Just when you thought that the Traveling Wilburys was really
the last hotter-than-fire super group to come down the pike, a ragtag outfit
of tried and true music legends, The Brooklyn Cowboys, pops up in Nashville
with a bag full of tricks and some solid sounds that literally picks up the
gauntlet laid down by the late Gram Parsons 30 years ago. Their debut CD,
DOIN' TIME ON PLANET EARTH, which is a happy marriage of traditional country,
western and American roots music, is slated for an April 25 release on Leap

The Brooklyn Cowboys are: Parsons' crony, guitarist-vocalist Walter Egan; the
magic man of pedal steel best known for his unique contribution to the New
Riders of the Purple Sage, Buddy Cage; founding member of the Ozark Mountain
Daredevils Michael "Supe" Granda on bass guitar; session and touring
keyboardist for BJ Thomas, Stacey Earle and Neal Coty, Michael Webb; former 5
Bucks' member Brian Waldschlager on background vocals; award- winning
songwriter and drummer Fredrough "Fredro" Perry, and the beautiful and always
eloquent country songbird, Joy Lynn White, who adds her delicate touch on
acoustic guitar and vocals.

The brainchild of Egan and Perry, who along with another first stringer, Al
Perkins (the Flying Burrito Brothers, Parsons, Manassas, the Rolling Stones),
produced DOIN' TIME ON PLANET EARTH, this band fulfills the promise and vision
of not only Gram Parsons, but also Jerry Garcia, NRPS, Commander Cody & the
Lost Planet Airmen, the Outlaws, Hank Williams, Sr., George Jones, Merle
Haggard and Buck Owens. Taking all the sharpest elements of traditional
American music and reshaping them to good effect, The Brooklyn Cowboys come
roaring into the new millennium with songs that play well coast-to-coast and
on a variety of radio formats.

DOIN' TIME ON PLANET EARTH hits all the right notes and feels oh so good!
Songs like "Reachin' For the Sky," a solid country song with some Chuck Berry
guitar licks and Cage's impeccable steel; "Jukebox Girl," with guest Redd
Volkaert from Haggard's band on lead guitar; "Californ'," and "Carolina
Calypso," a co-write by Egan and Parsons, the final composition of Parsons'
too-short life. Vassar Clements also adds his distinctive fiddle style
throughout the album.

This is a once-in-a-lifetime band with all the right licks, satisfying and
full bodied in everyway. Music will never be the same after the April 25
release of this history making band's debut CD, DOIN' TIME ON PLANET EARTH and
their "Doin' Time Tour, " scheduled to begin soon, is bound to be the
highlight of the summer. Don't miss out on The Brooklyn Cowboys. They are the
stuff musical dreams are made of!
