Destiny's Child Houston In-Store & MTV/TRL Tour!

Destiny's Child, currently the best-selling female vocal group in the world, are coming to Houston to meet their hometown fans and sign copies of Survivor, their eagerly-awaited new album from Columbia Records. The Destiny's Child in-store appearance will take place at Wal-Mart (2727 Dunvale, Houston) on Friday, May 4, at 4pm. An in-store appearance in New York City on May 1, the album's release date, was pure pandemonium when more than 6,000 fans arrived at Rockefeller Center to show their love for Destiny's Child.

Led by founding members BeyoncÈ Knowles and Kelly Rowland, Destiny's Child burst onto the music scene in 1997 with the multi-platinum #1 single, "No, No No," from the group's self-titled debut album. Michelle Williams joined the group in February 2000.

The Writing's On The Wall, the second Destiny's Child album, was released in July 1999 and debuted at #6 on the Billboard album chart. The album has gone on to sell 10 million copies worldwide, has been certified 7x platinum in the United States by the RIAA, and is still on the album chart.

Over the course of the group's remarkable four-year career, Destiny's Child has been the recipient of numerous awards including Grammys for Best R&B Song ("Say My Name") and Best R&B Performance By A Group Or Duo ("Say My Name"), an American Music Award for Favorite Band, Duo or Group (Soul/Rhythm & Blues Music), and Soul Train's Sammy Davis, Jr. Award for Entertainer(s) of the Year. Destiny's Child is a two-time recipient of the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Duo or Group (The Writing's On The Wall, 2000; "Say My Name," 2001).

If you can't make it to the Houston in-store, you can still catch Destiny's Child on the MTV/TRL Tour featuring Jessica Simpson (on select dates) and Eve, Nelly, Dream, and 3LW. More details to follow.
