Spider Lane (Switchblade Scarlett, Roxy Mae) Confirms Retirement From Performing

Bassist and vocalist Spider Lane, known for his time in MTV-featured pop-rock group Switchblade Scarlett (Retrospect Records) and classic rock/punk group Roxy Mae, has confirmed he will cease performing live indefinitely.

After developing severe vocal fold nodules in his throat, Lane took a leave of absence from Columbus, Ohio-based Roxy Mae, known for their regional radio singles "Life in the City" and "Dressed in Black," in April of 2017, returning once for the Rockin' the Rez festival in New London, OH in July.

In addition, Lane suffers from spinal disc damage in his back, stemming from a 2013 auto wreck, frequently leaving him in severe pain after performances.

He is currently writing and recording under the name "The Autumn Distortion," but has no plans to return to live performance in the future. He released the song, "Wait for Me" on Bandcamp in fall of 2017.

Spider Lane is currently in a relationship with a foreign national from the United Kingdom. They plan to relocate to Lane's childhood town of Chardon, OH.
