Los Angeles Based Rock Band, The Dirty Diamond, Announce The Release Of Their New Single And Video, "Love And Light".
A fixture on the Los Angeles rock scene, The Dirty Diamond announce the release of their new single and video, "Love and Light". Behind the veil of human suffering and historic atrocities (wars, slavery, genocide) lies an opportunity for collective learning, growth, and evolution of consciousness. “Love and Light” touches on the prospect of healing from ancestral trauma, and moving forward hopefully as a more evolved species not condemned to repeat our dark past.
The music video for "Love and Light" was filmed and edited by Argentinian-Armenian Martin Yernazian. The video concept is of a searcher in solitude, self-examination, and contemplation, and was shot in the Mojave Desert over one full day and night.

The subject of the cover art is Edmond Keshishian, a professional photographer who has photographed many live Dirty Diamond shows and events. His wife Jasmine Keshishian took this photograph, chosen for its mystical, meditative quality, a "face in the light". It was transformed into the single cover by graphic designer Yeva Babayan, who has been designing The Dirty Diamond’s concert posters and album covers since the band's inception.
Nothing can match experiencing an authentic group like The Dirty Diamond, built on chemistry, passion, and great songwriting. World class musicians and friends Derek Frank on bass and vocals (Shania Twain, Air Supply), Shay Godwin on drums and vocals (Andra Day), Fernando Perdomo on guitar and vocals (Jakob Dylan, Todd Rundgren, Florence + the Machine), and Sam Babayan on lead vocals and guitar (Slow Motion Reign, produced by Serj Tankian of System Of A Down), together shine with unique attitude in both the content and message of their songs and their heartfelt live performances. The group’s earnest efforts and infectious energy is earning a strong following and the attention of peers. The Dirty Diamond have regularly headlined LA venues like Troubadour, House of Blues, The Hotel Cafe, The Viper Room, and El Rey Theatre.
In recent months, big shows by The Dirty Diamond have been cause-related events supported by the band: “Silence The Lies - Rock The Truth” at The Roxy Theatre, acknowledging human rights atrocities of the Armenian Genocide, and “Because We Can” at The Avalon in Hollywood, lending a voice in support of the water protectors with founding members of Blind Melon. Both events were huge successes and the members of The Dirty Diamond felt privileged to be included.
This summer, The Dirty Diamond was among the top three bands selected in JBL’s national music contest, "Best American Band", for their recent single "Changes". The band also just recorded a duet version of “Changes” with Andra Day, paired with a music video by famed director Paul Boyd, which will be released in early 2018.
Between shows, guitarist, multi-instrumentalist, and producer Fernando Perdomo and singer, songwriter Sam Babayan have been locked in a studio, laser-focused on completing the follow-up to their previous album, “Our Divine and Sovereign Mother". “Brand New Vintage”, the second studio album by The Dirty Diamond, includes singles “Changes” and “Love and Light” and is scheduled for release in 2018.
