Enter The 2006 Jeep Aventura New Artist Contest
Attention Latin Musicians: Win a chance to record a Spanish language song under the direction of Sebastian Krys Krys has produced award-winning albums for artists like Gloria Estefan, Carlos Vives, Obie Bermúdez, and JD Natasha. Greensboro, NC--(Batanga.com)--June 16, 2006—The Jeep Aventura New Artist Contest (www.batanga.com/aventura/) kicks off its third year at Batanga.com. The contest accepts Spanish language song entries from amateur Latin musicians looking for that big break into the music industry. The Grand Prize winner records an album quality track with producer Sebastian Krys, who has produced award-winning albums for artists like Gloria Estefan, Carlos Vives, Obie Bermúdez, and JD Natasha. Over the course of the contest entry period from June 16, 2006 – October 16, 2006, audio clips of each entry, artist/band photos, biographies, and optional video will be available online for Batanga.com visitors to listen to and vote on. Visitors to www.Batanga.com will be required to register in order to vote for their favorite artist/band. Finalists are selected by a panel of professional Latin artists/bands, producer Sebastian Krys, Batanga.com listeners and music programmers. Entries will be judged on the following criteria: 1.) Artist/band's creative ability 2.) Audience Appeal 3.) Music Accuracy 4) Music selection and performance quality. Past judges have included Latin-Grammy nominated artist, Luis Fonsi; Grammy winners, Ozomatli; 2003 MTV Latin Awards for Best Group or Duo, Best Mexican Artist, Best Alternative Artist and Video of the Year, Molotov; Mexican rocker, Sara Valenzuela (of La Dosis), Peruvian rockers, Libido; pop artist, Alih Jey; and singer-songwriter Saavedra, who has composed over 200 songs which have been recorded by artists such as Helenita Vargas (“Me Borraras”), Oscar d’León (“Cualquiera”), and Gisselle (“Contra la Marea” and “Donde Estabas”).
