PRESS RELEASE

February 1, 2006 – Dallas based Toadies announced today that they would reunite for one show. On March 11, 2006, The Toadies will headline the Dallas Observer and Greenville Avenue’s St Patrick’s Day Parade Concert on Yale Blvd. The event runs from 1-6pm. Tickets go on sale this Friday at 10 am through frontgatetickets.com

The line-up for this performance includes original members Vaden Todd Lewis (guitar, vocals), drummer Mark “Rez” Reznicek; and Clark Vogeler guitarist on the band’s Hell Below/Stars Above record. Mark Hughes, who played the last several Toadies shows, after the departure of Lisa Umbarger, rounds out the line up.

The Toadies released their debut album Rubberneck on Interscope in 1994. The album spawned the nationwide hit singles “Possum Kingdom” and “Tyler,” selling well over a million units. In 2001, The Toadies released the criminally overlooked Hell Below/Star Above. Shortly thereafter, bassist Lisa Umbarger quit the band. The remaining band members played a few farewell shows, before going their separate ways.

Since the last Toadies shows in 2001, Vaden Todd Lewis has been fronting and touring with the Burden Brothers (www.theburdenbrothers.com) who released their debut cd Buried In Your Black Heart in 2004. The Burden Brothers are currently finishing their follow up, Mercy, with noted producer Joe Chicarreli. Mercy is scheduled for a late spring 06 release.

Mark Reznicek lives in Dallas and is currently playing drums with Country/Western band, Eleven Hundred Springs. (www.1100springs.com) They are working on the follow-up to their critically acclaimed album Bandwagon, which was released in 2004 on Palo Duro Records.

Clark Vogeler has relocated to Los Angeles and works as an editor on documentaries, music videos, and television shows. Aside from a short tour as a fill in guitarist with The New Year, he has only been playing guitar in his house. Mostly Beatles.

Mark Hughes resides in Denton, TX and plays bass with lauded noisemakers Baboon. (www.baboonland.com) Baboon are currently working on a new record.

About the end of the Toadies Vaden says “After the last Toadies show I didn't think I would be involved in the music industry again. It seemed like the right time for me to stop. I'm glad I didn't.” Lewis continues, “Playing this reunion show is a chance to say "thanks" to Dallas and the Observer for all of their support. It happened to fall in the middle of the first real down time I've had in a couple of years.” Reznicek chimes in “We didn't part on bad terms or anything, so I didn't see any reason for us not to get together again when the time seemed right. Having the chance to play those songs with these guys again is great.” Vogeler adds “It's easy to agree to playing shows with The Toadies. Shows are always the best part of being in any band. With the music business being what it is, it's not always easy/fun/profitable to be a musician. But when you get to play the songs you love and you get to play them louder than hell, all the shit kinda disappears.”

What does the future hold for the Toadies? According to Vaden, “If I told you I would have to kill you. And that would suck. And I don't have anything to tell you anyway.”
