EMI Makes Multiple Music Products Available To T-Mobile Customers

Bookmark and Share

EMI Music has agreed a pan-European deal with T-Mobile to make thousands of tracks and music videos available in multiple formats to the mobile phone operator's consumer base of more than 60 million people.

T-Mobile will now be able to offer their customers the ability to use their mobile phone to download video clips, ringtones, ringbacks, full track downloads and images from EMI Music's artists including Athlete, Bebe, Coldplay, Faith Evans, Tiziano Ferro, Gorillaz, Norah Jones, Kylie Minogue, Raphael and Joss Stone.

Under the terms of the agreement, more than 200,000 EMI Music tracks will be made available to T-Mobile as downloads, ringtones and sound logos, as well as music video clips that can be downloaded or streamed to mobile handsets.

The agreement follows T-Mobile's groundbreaking partnership with Robbie Williams, which is enabling fans to personalize their mobile phones with must-have music content from his latest album 'Intensive Care.' T-Mobile is the international head sponsor and lead brand in association with Sony Ericsson for all Robbie Williams activities until December 2006.

Already, T-Mobile customers have been able to download ringtones, sound logos, wallpaper and videos for new Robbie Williams tracks such as 'Tripping' and 'Make Me Pure.' Fans of the star can also use T-Mobile to access ringtones of some of his most popular songs, as well as special wallpaper images.

Doug Lucas, vice president of digital development and distribution for EMI Music in Europe said: "EMI is always looking to provide fans with their favourite music at every opportunity, and this deal with one of the biggest mobile operators in the world puts the music of our artists directly into the palms of more than 60 million consumers."

"Our additional relationship with EMI is a natural step following our announcement of the partnership with Robbie Williams. We are very excited to offer our customers mobile music content from their favorite EMI artists," said Michael Hagspihl, Vice President Consumer Marketing, T-Mobile International.
