Fuse, Deep Focus & Myspace Team Up To Offer Myspace Members A Dynamic Platform To Showcase Music And Become The Next Video Star On Fuse Video On-Demand
fuse, the nation's only all-music, viewer-influenced television network; Deep Focus, a leading interactive entertainment marketing agency; and MySpace.com, the pre-eminent domain where young bands and fans share and discover new music, announced the launch of an innovative promotion to find and launch the next big video star. From now until November 4, young musicians will have the opportunity to go on to myspace.com/fuse and upload 1 - 3 minute videos for consideration to a dedicated fuse group page on MySpace. Judges from fuse and Deep Focus will select five finalist videos to be posted on the contest site beginning November 7. Site-goers will have a week to cast a vote for their favorite video. Beginning November 15, the number-one vote getter will receive extensive airplay and promotion on fuse's popular VOD service, fuse Video On-Demand, and MySpace – making them the next big video star. "Like everything we do, this promotion empowers music fans to help their favorite underground bands take the next step – to gain vital exposure on the most edge-pushing and music-centric brand in music television - fuse," commented Joe Glennon, fuse's Senior Vice President of Distribution. The promotion is very much in line with fuse and MySpace's mission to create a rich, branded social networking experience built around the love of music. The fuse-branded promotional site also serves to drive traffic to the competing bands' sites housed at MySpace, access to additional mp3s, photography, bios, lists and more. In addition, the fuse group page provides a lively social forum for discussion and debate on not only the entries, but all things music. "This campaign was a natural fit, as it brings together the top cable network for music videos (fuse) with the top destination for independent bands to thrive and showcase themselves in an interactive forum (MySpace)," said Ian Schafer, CEO and Founder of Deep Focus.
