Big3 Opens Doors In Nashville
St. Petersburg, FL based multi-faceted music company Big3 Entertainment, LLC is opening an independent country music label here in Music City. Big3 Nashville is setting up shop with female flagship artist Joey Daniels, a singer/songwriter with a soulful powerhouse voice. Her debut release TAKE ME OFF THE MARKET will hit the streets on Sept. 13 and will be distributed by music giant EMI. Big3 Entertainment LLC, the parent company which houses numerous music entities; Big3 Records LLC, Big3 Nashville, Okie Dokie Management LLC, WE Productions, and Mojo Rizin Publishing LLC, is a versatile music company with an impressive team of experienced and hands-on industry pros, headed by Chairman and CEO Bill Edwards, President Maryann Pascal, General Manager David Leach, and Senior Vice President of Production and Nashville Operations Will Byrd. Owner and CEO Bill Edwards is not only a very savvy business man who built Mortgage Investors Corporation (MIC) into a multi-billion dollar company since he purchased it in 1994 on a shoestring budget, but he is also an accomplished musician. Edwards enlisted top-of-the line professionals to help run his music empire. Edwards' passion for music and an instinct on how to make things happen has allowed this five-year-old independent record label, Big3 Records, to acquire some of the best artists and executives the music industry has to offer. Big3 Records was named Best Independent Record Label of 2003 at the 13th Annual Los Angeles Music Awards. With a roster including Pop-star Jon Secada, Rock legends Cheap Trick, and the popular Christian Rock group Stryper, among others, the small label is making quite a name for itself. Plans are for the sister label, Big3 Nashville, to follow suit. Debut artist Joey Daniels recently made an impressive debut at this year's Country Music Association's Music Festival with a performance at Nashville's River Front stage where she played to thousands. Her debut single "Swinging Door" has been recently released and is garnering fast attention from radio programmers across the country. Big3 Nashville will announce more signings in the near future. Edwards had established himself in Nashville long before opening the doors to his new office. Not new to the Country Music scene, Edwards, along with Nashville hitmaker James Stroud, owns WS Publishing, LLC that has acquired several important country music publishing catalogs. WS co-owns the Paddock Music catalog along with Toby Keith and Toby's manager, TK Kimbrell. The WS-Paddock catalog includes 423 titles including one of Toby's biggest hits entitled, "My List." WS co-owns the Malaco Music catalog, Good Ole Boy Music and Chatawa Music that includes hit country songs recorded by Rascal Flatts and Reba McEntire. Additionally, James Stroud and Bill Edwards are co-owners of Springfish Music along with hit country music producer Mark Bright. Springfish is poised to be one of the premiere custom country music publishing companies having signed experienced hit songwriters including Danny Wells, Pam Rose, Regie Hamm, Marc Beeson and others. In June of 2004 Edwards named long time associate Maryann Pascal President of Big3 Records and Big3 Nashville. Pascal, who became a key player in the inception of Big3 quickly excelled in the company because of her keen sense of PR and Marketing, as well as her dedication. Pascal now oversees all of the label's business including all artist interests, direction of the label's department heads, and managing the label's day-to-day operations. Under Pascal's guidance and vision, Big3 Records is advancing in new directions while streamlining all processes to ensure the label's continued success. Nashville industry veteran Will Byrd, whose career in entertainment spans more than 20 years, will head up the Nashville office and assume the title Senior Vice President of Production and Nashville Operations. Byrd who has worked in various aspects of the entertainment industry including television production with Turner Broadcasting's "World Championship Wrestling" and was on the team that developed "Monday Nitro," the hugely successful #1 rated show for 2 years running. He has since produced various programs for networks (TNT, BET, TNN, and PBS) and clients (NARAS, Dollar General). Byrd, also known for his talent in producing live music events, was one of the first producers to make his mark in live production in the Nashville music community. His live performance clients have included: Bruce Springsteen, Wall Mart/Anderson merchandisers, Dolly Parton, Warner Brothers, Sony, Country Time Lemonade, the Country Music Association, NARAS, Inflight magazine, Nashville Mayors Office, Al Gore presidential campaign, Vince Gill, Arista Records, and the Indiana State Fair to name a few. As a producer for live radio remotes, he coordinated and produced coverage for the CMA Awards for 13 years (through 2003), the ACM Awards for 10 years (through 2003), and the Grammy Awards radio remote for 10 years. He has also produced various events from the Super Bowl to the Newport Jazz festival, as well as the Country Music Association's music festival (formerly known as Fan Fair) 20 years (through 2002). Byrd has the relationships and experience needed to help make Big3 Nashville's mark on Music Row. With an experienced staff already in place and offices on Music Row, Big3 Nashville is ready for the business of making hits and creating careers. Look for BIG things from this new independent label!
