NYC INDIE ROCKER JANA PERI KICKS OFF “CATCHING FLIES WITH VINEGAR” 2005 UK TOUR JANA PERI (www.janaperi.com) will unleash her special brand of New York City style power pop and rock ‘n’ roll on the UK this fall with a 10-day tour, kicking off Friday, September 30 in Mitton, and wrapping up with a CD release/video premiere party Sunday, October 9 at The Zanzibar Club in Liverpool. The tour will showcase songs from PERI’s new CD, Catching Flies With Vinegar, slated for release October 25. The CD was produced by Daniel Rey (The Ramones, The Misfits, Ronnie Spector) and features the track, “Go Ahead,” which was also included on the 2004 International Pop Overthrow - Volume 7 compilation on American power pop and melodic rock label, Not Lame. Catching Flies With Vinegar is the follow-up to PERI’s critically acclaimed, self-titled debut EP, which contained “Dating Sucks” (the song that ROCKRGRL magazine chose for the lead track on its Discoveries 2004 compilation) and also “The La La Song” (a song inspired by her previous travels in England). PERI shot a music video for “The La La Song” with a local production team in Liverpool and Manchester last year and will premiere it at this year’s Liverpool show. The singer/songwriter/guitarist did a short solo electric tour of the UK in 2004, the highlight of which was a performance at Liverpool’s legendary Cavern Club that features prominently in the video. She returns to England this year with a new band consisting of musicians Jacob Callis (bass guitar/background vocals) and John D. Soos (drums/percussion/background vocals). The majority of this year’s tour was booked in association with CMEAS (www.cmeas.com). The organization, formerly known as Chicago Music Explosion (CME), specializes in international booking and promotion. PERI can’t wait to go back to England: “Last year’s solo tour was a fantastic experience, but there is nothing compared to rocking out with a full band in a foreign country.
