Musician Aids Katrina Victums
Website: http://www.streetwarriorband.com When a musician on stage suddenly for no reason stops playing, for a few seconds all is silent. It was on this particular night a musician went unplugged and played a different tune, cause hurricane Katrina had a backstage pass. On this night the lights didn't go out in Georgia , the wind didn't cry Mary , and nobody was leaving on a jet plane.. For what we all did hear all along the watchtower of the South was when the levi breaks a tragic cry for gimmie shelter is all that sadly remains. The Katrina tragedy and devastation is beyond all words and belief, shadowed in the foreground are the shameful cop-outs, the excuses, the outright balony lies, the cheap ass " Not-My-Yob" and the "No-Speaka-Englise" routine pumped out by our Government as to where they were when this all first happened. Why weren't they in there sooner, These people needed help desperately and 'De Ol Uncle Sammy Boy' the car salesman that he is, turned his back on the American people hit and suffering in the Southern States ravished by Katrina. "We only just found out" , "We didnt know until now" ... Yeah sounds like the titles to some bad rock songs and they are starting to sound real played out to the American public. The Tsunami was a tragic event as well, and a just cause to donate help and money to, but people just kept giving checks over and over again to the Tsunami cause ... Not ever thinking that something horrific might hit us damm hard here at home on American soil. Perhaps now one might reorganize some thoughts as to how much they donated to the Tsunami , that those very same people may not have any extra to give and donate to the Katrina Tragedy and the people caught up in the suffering. MTV / CMT all bragging about the "ReAct Now: Music & Relief" benefit Concert" thing going down on Sept 10th 2005 , and that's all cool as well, While we learn that Macy is physically down in the Astrodome helping out and lending a hand, right on Macy , you have earned our respect as a real deal person. So like all these performers are gonna bop upon stage and raise money for the Katrina people , that's great, but like why dont we all just do like Macy and get on down dare and get right in the sh_t man... People down there need hands on help and assistance , moral support, moreover , just someone decent and human to talk to. Money raised on stage is awesome indeed , but like how bout after the benefit concert maybe get in their limos or their fine rides and head on down to where the real deal be happening, and physically lend a helping hand. Step on up into the mud of things. Things down there need to be rebuilt, moved, undug, cleaned up, or found, there is so much work to do there, some work nice and some gruesome, whatever it may be aside from money these people also need to see fellow humans coming in to help them and to give them much needed moral support. like it's always nice to see a friend ! StreetWarrior has sent 75 street soldiers down to the Southern states affected by Katrina, with more to follow soon. These soldiers go in as underground, they have been disbursed evenly between LA and the Miss, they bring with them cash, food, toys, clothes, and much more needed things. They will get in there , and the StreetWarrior goal is to help and assist whoever they can down there in many ways. "Yo People dis sh_t isnt even funny" , states the StreetWarrior, "Fu_k Foreign Aid man , we gots some poor peeps rights here on our own turf dat needs all of our help and assistance"... " Dey be all suffering and dying da same as in da foreign countries, The American Goverment needs to stop throwin dem gutterballs and start shooting in the strike zone back here in da Americas"... " Yo so I guess I be seeing Ricky Martin down in New Orleans pitchin in like he was so qwik to do so in Tsunami eh ? "... "Man dis aint da sixties, we can no longer just get away with doing a benefit concert with a bunch of performers and raise money and just simply mail da check out and den feel so much better cause we all did our good deed for that day , 'no' today dat is not enough anymores, it just aint gonna cut it in today's tragic times", adds the Streetwarrior. Upon asking, we learn that the notorious underground Streetwarrior has funded this 75 man expedition from his very own pocket .... " Songs are strong and resourceful, they can reach many and get da word out and get things done and people motivated , but above all , 'actions and doing' are da real deal thing" the Streetwarrior comments. One inquiry I just had to clearify was the fact that Streetwarrior says 'no' to Foreign Aid, he believes our government, our American people , Artists, Stars, and Musicians should all help the American people first , "Help those in need right here on our own turf first " is his arguement. yet I know for a fact that Streetwarrior is very down with the Black Community and so I asked him "What about Africa, what about aid to Africa being that you are so close to the American Black Community" ? , Streetwarrior gave me this very interesting reply : " Yes , no foreign aid with the 'Exception' of Africa, First we owe it to Africa to help dem because of what our forefathers did with da slavery thing, so we owe it to dem, and secondly, We are so closely knitted and tied to Africa because of all our 'Black Afro-American' brothers and sistas right here residing on our soil , that in my eyes Africa is just like Puerto Rico - A part of the United States anyways - so to speak. Once upon an evil time, not so long ago, the white man bounced the American Indians , as they also bounced over to Africa , snatched up some black human property, cheap free labor and cheap free black booty as well, bopped dem back here to America like bound tagged cattle and Slavery was born,Yeah we owe it to Africa to give dem aid, any kind of aid, and as much aid as dey need or want, we will always owe Africa that, forever ! " ... To conclude this interview, Streetwarrior added this final comment "that we all view our big stars and our famed ones with eyes wide open , and as the great John Kay of Steppinwolf onced asked "America , where are you now , Dont you know we need you now"... the Streetwarrior has been asking that same question for a long while now... and strange enough there seems to be no real reply, Only the sound of Katrina's deadly roar.
