50 Cent Author Pwned By Bloggers
Website: http://www.byroncrawford.com/ FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE In reaction to a story in this month's VIBE magazine, Internet gang The Mindset Army has hijacked the author's URL - featured in the story - and redirected it to a page calling him a "douche." Creve Coeur, MO (Mi2N) August 16, 2005 -- When thousands of readers of the September 2005 JUICE issue of VIBE magazine attempt to check out a URL listed in a story about hip-hop blogs - supposedly the URL of the author's own blog - they will instead be redirected to a page calling the author a "douche." The author of the story is hip-hop journalist kris ex, co-author of "From Pieces to Weight: Once Upon a Time in Southside Queens," the autobiography of hip-hop artist 50 Cent, and a polarizing figure in the world of hip-hop blogging. From late 2004 until the beginning of this summer, he maintained a blog at the URL http://warscribe.blogspot.com He launched the blog to no small amount of fanfare, insulting other hip-hop bloggers and declaring his intentions to take over hip-hop blogging. But - as time went by - it became increasingly obvious that he had little of any value to contribute to the blogosphere and, as such, he never managed to draw much of an audience. Broken and embarrassed, he retired from blogging earlier this summer. In the VIBE story, he paints a purposely skewed picture of hip-hop blogging and chooses to highlight only the hip-hop bloggers he was chummiest with, many of whom also happen to be low-level hip-hop journalists. Excluded - among others - was ByronCrawford.com: The Mindset of a Champion, the Internet's leading hip hop blog by far - drawing more traffic than the rest of the blogs on the list combined - which is edited by Bol Guevara, MD, leader of the online gang The Mindset Army. Some time between when the VIBE story went to print and today - presumably out of embarrassment - kris ex decided to delete his account with blog hosting service Blogger. Gang members were then able to create a new account under his old name and redirect it to the aforementioned "douche" page. ### About The Mindset Army The Mindset Army is a gully Internets gang.
