Listeners Flocking To Clear Channel Radio's Online Broadcasts

Clear Channel Online Music & Radio announced the monthly streaming data for its radio-station Web sites and the results are staggering! With some 400 radio stations streaming online – and even more sites sporting a newly designed, cleaner welcome page – the Clear Channel Online Radio Network has become one of the top online destinations for music lovers, regardless of genre. In fact, in 2005 alone, Clear Channel Radio Network's streaming traffic increased an eye-popping 177%, according to the June comScore/Arbitron Online Ratings Report.

"We're successfully extending the intimate bond that our radio stations have with their listeners to the online world," said Evan Harrison, executive vice president of Clear Channel Radio and head of the company's Online Music & Radio unit.

The numbers* are impressive:

* In an average week in June, Clear Channel Online Music & Radio sites pulled in more than 800,000 listeners for streaming broadcasts. That's more than 100,000 listeners per week, compared to the previous month.

* Time Spent Listening for Clear Channel Online Music & Radio increased an astounding 51% year-to-date.

* Since January 2005, Clear Channel Online Music & Radio rose from last place to a very competitive third place in the number of weekly listeners.
