Disc Makers' Independent Music World Series Showcase To Kick-Off This October's Music Player Live! Consumer Music Summit
Music Player Network, the world's leading music instrument publishing company, is proud to announce that this October's inaugural consumer music summit will open with a bang as Disc Makers' Independent Music World Series (IMWS) Northeast Showcase comes to town to kick-off the three days of festivities, exhibits and live performances. The showcase will take place on Thursday, October 20th at New York's famed Knitting Factory, and all registered attendees for Music Player Live! will be admitted free to this exciting industry event. Music Player Live! (MPL!) is the ultimate consumer music summit featuring three days of exhibits, live performances and interviews, with lessons and panel discussions aimed at guitarists, bassists, keyboardists, and recording enthusiasts at every skill level. With an expanded format based on last year's successful Bass Player Live!, Music Player Live! will provide a fantastic opportunity for musicians interested in improving their skills and knowledge to get hands-on experience with the most up-to-date equipment, as well as vintage gear. Musicians will also be able to glean advice and techniques from top professionals and get hands-on experience with the equipment used as tools of the trade. Produced by leading CD and DVD manufacturer Disc Makers, the Independent Music World Series is the country's most exciting and popular live-music showcase series, giving musicians a unique opportunity to display their talents, make valuable industry contacts and compete for $35,000 in music gear and prizes. IMWS showcases are held in four regions throughout the country (Northeast, West, Midwest, and Southeast) and are open to musicians of all genres not currently signed to a major record label. Recent winners have included Chicago's Treologic (Midwest 2005), Los Angeles' bang SUGAR bang (West 2005), Pemberton (NJ)'s Chinua Hawk (Northeast 2004), and Nashville's Rich Creamy Paint.
