OVERVIEW OF THE A&R POWER SUMMIT:

The A&R Power Summit is the brainchild of Jesse Atkinson, CEO of Urban Threshold Enterprises Inc and Robert "Mr. Raw" Wright, Chief Operating Officer of Urban Threshold. With the assistance of J. Price Mars, Executive VP of Urban Threshold, the A&R Power Summit/Summer 2004 on August 29th, 2004 at SOB'S was a huge success. Ms. Chivon Dean, President of Ruff Ryders sat on one of the A&R Panels and she was presented with an award for Executive of The Year.

The 2005 A&R Power Summit promises to be just as rewarding.
A&R representatives from the hottest urban labels will come together to discuss the best avenues for artists to take to get the record deal that will further their career. They will discuss what artists should be looking for in a record deal. Our main endeavor will be to give talented artists and producers, who have few connections or resources, the chance to get their music heard and the chance to receive valuable business information regarding the music industry.

The music business is 90% business and 10% talent. This industry is all about whom you know and not what you know. Success in the music business depends upon making the right relationships. Most successful people in the music industry have positioned and networked themselves to success.

There will be music business executives in attendance at the A&R Power Summit who can show artists how to develop multiple revenue streams with in the music industry. Furthermore, the A&R Power Summit is one of the most affordable seminars of its kind.

THE MISSION OF THE A&R POWER SUMMIT

The mission of The A&R Power Summit is to bridge the gap between the unsigned artist and the music industry. More importantly, the summit provides a platform to discuss the current state of the music business. Right now the industry is in a critical state. We will discuss the current problems and offer solutions to remedy those problems.

A&R and Entertainment Industry representatives from the hottest urban labels and Entertainment Companies will get together to discuss the best avenues for artists to take to further their career. They will also discuss what artists should be looking for in a record deal. The A&R Power Summit/Spring 2005 will empower artists and give A&R and Industry executives the opportunity to review a pre-screened pool of prospects.

Our main endeavor will be to give talented artists and producers, who have few connections or resources, the chance to get their music heard and the chance to receive valuable business information regarding the music industry.

OVERVIEW OF THE UNDERGROUND MUSIC AWARDS:

The Underground Music Awards were created to acknowledge and honor the achievements and contributions of unsigned and independent artists within the urban music scene. The awards are the brainchild of Urban Threshold Enterprises Inc. CEO, Jesse Atkinson. On August 29th, 2004, Urban Threshold Enterprises Inc. presented the 2nd Annual Underground Music Awards at SOB's in NYC. The 2004 UMA's was a huge success. The 2004 Underground Music Awards welcomed over 500 attendees. While recognizing independent urban music artists, many prominent industry professionals were recognized as well such as: Cormega, DR Period, Fatz Belvedere, Chevon Dean, President of Ruff Ryders and many more.

In 2005, Urban Threshold Enterprises Inc. plans to up hold our promise to the Independent Urban music Community of making the Underground Music Awards an annual event. We intend to introduce bigger and better things each year. The 3rd Annual Underground Music Awards will combine the elements of an awards show, a music conference, an informational seminar, and an entertainment showcase into one lively event. It will feature vendors and participants, from all over the world, representing the full spectrum of underground Hip Hop, R&B, Gospel and Reggae music and fashion as a global phenomenon.

Invited honorees and special celebrity guests include: Zulu Nation, DJ Kool Herc, The Boot Camp Click, Main-o, Jean Grae, Stimuli, Afu-Ra, Killah Priest, John Doe, Mense, Gravy, Immortal Tecknique, All Access DVD, Smack DVD and many more..

In addition there will be special awards presented for: Lifetime Achievement, Community Give back, Website of the year, best magazine, A&R of the year, Indie label of the Year, and Best up and coming Urban Fashion Designer. Equally important, the Soul of Hip Hop Scholarship Foundation award will be given to two (2) high school students who have overcome tremendous obstacles to graduate with honors in 2005.

A select group of the nominees will be given the opportunity to showcase their talent during the awards ceremony. Also, there will be other special guest performances, a fashion show, a free-style contest, and comic relief. There will be a pre-awards banquet and music seminar preceding the awards ceremony.
The votes will be tabulated and the winners will be presented awards at the 3rd Annual Promo Radio/Hip Hop Palace Underground Music Awards ceremony on August 22, 2005 in NYC at SOB’s. Each winner will receive an official Promo Underground Music Award trophy (statue) and other prizes. Mr. Raw and Jesse Jess of Promo Radio 91.9FM will host the show, in association with DJ Jaz.
