The First Ever Fully Automated Internet Radio!
laut.fm, a new radio broadcasting concept at www.laut.de. The best mix of alternative music, although editorial effort is very low because laut.fm broadcast is generated automatically by the UMM of PWsoft The popular website laut.de is one of Germany’s most successful music sites for young visitors between 14 and 35. Music listeners can find news and stories, CD-reviews, artist information and a lexicon on pop music as well as tour dates and information on other music events. Only one important thing was missing: they had enough writing about music but now they are playing it. Since internet broadcasts aren’t limited to certain regional frequencies they can be accessed from all over the world. Pages like www.laut.fm can simply be opened and instantly you can listen to your favorite station at your workplace or at home. Internet radios offer an unbelievable amount of variety that cannot be achieved with short wave broadcasts. laut.fm is a digital revolution. Thanks to PWsoft’s UMM-system the webradio can broadcast without end even if the music editor has gone for an extended holiday. The UniversalMixMachine cannot only produce playlists for music and jingles but also sequences of digital content such as text, pictures or videos dynamically. And it uses exactly those criteria for selection, the editor would use anyway when selecting content by hand. Rainer Henze, CEO of the LAUT AG, about his new UMM-Playlister-Software: „ With the UMM I have been given a reliable tool which is easy to use and with which I can precisely control the broadcast. And at the end it generates the complete broadcast fully automated day and night according to my requirements. The sequence of songs constantly varies so that the listener is being presented an always up to date program.“ The playlists can be generated by using editor or listener ratings, preferences in music styles, preferred changes in tempi but also economical requirements as control parameters. A perfect mix can already be produced with only a few data such as rating values. The UniversalMixMachine will help keeping up the variety in radio broadcasts because now it is possible even for small stations to produce radio broadcasts at moderate costs. Already existing radios(internet or terrestrial) can cut down their costs by far when switching over to or adding the UMM-solution. The UniversalMixMachine by PWsoft is also core technology of their well known Winamp Plugin called MOODMixer for Mp3/Ogg and WMA, a software that automatically produces playlists matching your mood or situation at the touch of a button.
