The opportunity of the year to meet top composers, learn how to score for video games, and pitch your music to top games audio directors! HOLLYWOOD -- On Saturday, May 21, 2005, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Los Angeles Music Productions (L*A*M*P), Indiespace, and the Film Music Network will present "Scoring Big with Music for Video Games," featuring top composers, audio directors of major manufacturers of video games, and more! The event will be held at Cinespace, a trendy venue located at 6356 Hollywood Blvd., Hollywood, CA 90028. The event will cover all major business, creative and technical aspects of this mysterious industry. Top composers, games execs, and authors will show participants how to: • Identify the trends and opportunities in the video games market • Score music to video games in Cinespace’s exclusive screening room • Explore potential revenue in the fastest growing segment of the music industry (over 3,000 new games a year!) Panelists and speakers include: • Lennie Moore, an accomplished composer, orchestrator and arranger of music for film, television and multimedia with a wide range of writing music in many styles, from jazz to pop to symphonic orchestra. He has composed music on ten films, orchestrated for other composers on dozens of feature films and television movies, over 100 commercials, and has composed a breathtaking 60-minute symphonic score for orchestra and choir for the hit CD-ROM game "Outcast". Recently, Lennie has composed music for "The Lord of the Rings: War of the Ring" (Vivendi Universal Games), and "Plague of Darkness" (Namco). He has worked with many orchestras around the world as a composer/conductor, including the Moscow and Munich Symphony Orchestras, San Francisco Opera, as well as orchestras in Los Angeles, Toronto, Seattle, and Salt Lake City. • Jeannie Novak, founder and CEO of Indiespace.com and accomplished games author. Jeannie has created game development curricula for UCLA Extension, Art Center College of Design, Santa Monica College/Academy of Entertainment & Technology, and Art Institute Online. She has authored three nationally-distributed books on interactive media – and is currently writing a series of books on game development called *Game Development Essentials,* published in Summer 2004 • Michael Pedriana, Lead Sound Designer for Electronic Arts: Mical works full time as an Audio Director for Electronic Arts. Some recent projects include Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle Earth, Command & Conquer:Generals, Red Alert 2, and Nox. Originally an electronic music composer during the '80s and '90s, he started working in games as an in-house composer for Virgin Interactive in '95. Since then, he has been involved with every aspect of audio production for games, including technology development, sound design, voice over recording, and music production. • More panelists pending…check www.lamusicproductions.com for latest list!! All participants will be given the opportunity to pitch their instrumental music to top audio directors and games agents for possible placement in the latest new games. Bring your best instrumental tracks (30 seconds – 1.5 minutes) for review and critique! Preregistered attendees get priority for the pitch. We'll dedicate an hour to the pitch...bring two 30-second snippets or one 60 second snippet. I suggest upbeat, "video game" type stuff. Depending on how many people are there, we'll try to get through as much as possible. A complimentary breakfast is included; and a buffet lunch will be provided from Cinespace’s tantalizing menu for $15, including soft drink. Registration is easy! Just go to L*A*M*P's secure registration site at www.acteva.com/go/lamp. Admission is only $50 without lunch, or $65 with lunch. Don't procrastinate! Those who show up at the door will pay $75 (cash only).
