The Clarks To Perform On Late Show With David Letterman On August 31st

Bookmark and Share

The Clarks will be making a special appearance on the "Late Show With David Letterman" on August 31st, performing a song off of their album "Fast Moving Cars(Razor & Tie)," which was just released Tuesday, June 8th and debuted on Billboard Magazine's "New Artist Chart" at #11 this week. You can also catch them at upcoming tour dates with the kick off at their hometown arena, Pittsburgh's Chevy Amphitheater where they will be performing  on June 18th & 19th with support acts Pat  McGee and Rhett Miller of  Old '97.

With "Fast Moving Cars", The Clarks transcend their Pittsburgh origins (the city, which Esquire Magazine praised as boasting the finest rock scenes in America - specifically citing The Clarks as a primary contributor) where they can routinely sell out 13,000-seat venues.

The first single from the album, "Hell On Wheels is getting top phone requests at WEGW, WCLG and KBAC.

"Fast Moving Cars" is typically eclectic in The Clarks tradition, with forays into punk-rock (Rob James' nods to Husker Dü and Elvis Costello in "You Know Everything"); psychedelic pop (drummer Dave Minarik's Tom Petty-by-way-of-Rubber Soul homage, "She Says Don't Miss Me"); and pedal-steel country twang ( lead singer Scott Blasey's plaintive "Train"). Of course, there's also a healthy dose of The Clarks' soaring rock & roll on Greg Joseph-penned single "Hell on Wheels", his Bic-flicking arena rocker, "Shimmy Low," and jangling, guitars-like-ringing-a-bell spiritual, "Blue," as well as Blasey's churning, classic "Anymore."
