NCIAA Targets Indie Artist & Label Companies By Invitaition Only!

Trakheadz.com, the first music provider to offer online and offline music promotion for the Independent music artists and labels, and the National Club Industry Association, representing Professional Club Dj’s venues and talent brokers everywhere, announced last week that they have joined forces and formed an exclusive partnership.

This new relationship will level the playing field for Independent Labels and Artists by providing a valuable outlet to promote their music and achieve mainstream success. By putting the power of music back in the hands of the DJ’s.

“One of the problems facing the music industry today is that there isn’t a lot of good music being released. Most music is simply a carbon copy of former hits’ says Steve Keitt, CEO of Trakheadz.com. “But there is an alternative. There are hundreds of thousands of recording artist out there that the public has not had a chance to hear.

What people don’t realize is that there are really ”two music industries”. The first consist of mainstream artists who are plugged into those critical avenues of promotion such as, mainstream radio stations, MTV, BET, etc. - that often guarantees mainstream success. The second is based underground— which typically consist of independent recording artists, underground radio stations, clubs, etc. These artists tend to utilize grass roots methods such as street teams, mix-tapes, the Internet, or simply “good ole’ fashion” word of mouth to promote their music.”

Based on that premise, one can logically conclude that this dynamic essentially locks independent artists out, and subsequently prevents them from getting their music into those traditional avenues of promotion. For some independent artists, getting their music on the radio has proven to be an impossible task. However, together with the NCIAA our unique system will bridge the gap between the underground and the mainstream music industries, by providing a direct link between independent artists and those who are mainly responsible for getting music heard, the professional DJ.

Indie Labels and Artists can now simply open one of several accounts that allow them to upload their songs. Trakheadz.com will then distribute their music to more then 33,000 DJs listed with the National Club Industry Association.

These DJs are working professionals who’s main objective is to discover new music. When artists or labels upload their songs the DJs will rate them, give feedback, and download the best ones to play. Now, instead of having their music sit idle on a website or collecting dust on a shelf somewhere, Independent Labels and artists can put their music in motion by getting it into the hands of Professional DJs all over the world.

DJ’s that actually want the music can automatically request a vinyl or CD direct from the artist or Label, via their TrakHeadz.com account. This process reduces the distribution costs of the artist or label and can pretty much guarantee that DJ is interested in playing their material, either on the air, or in the Club.

In Addition the NCIAA operates a 24-7 Live Broadcast station featuring the live mixes of these DJ’s in real time.

www.NetMixRadio.com, syndicates their content across the globe, providing people everywhere the chance to finally hearing the sounds of not only these DJ’s but these artists and labels as well. Something that before now was simply impossible. To make this integration even more interesting, NetMix Radio has created an exclusive station dedicated to the top 120 songs of those submitted by the independent artists and labels. This new station is set to launch March 1, 2004. To give invited labels a chance to get on board.

Last Year NCIAA DJ Members purchased more then 5.4 million dollars in vinyl records from independent record labels, of which almost 1.7 million dollars was not what the member intended to buy. “By creating a partnership like this with reputable independent labels members will know what they are buying before hand and they will know the labels have been approved by our association.” said President Kris Sweeton. “I think the real incentive for the record labels to become a part of this project is that 1.7 million dollars wasted, could have been potential sales with returning customers. From this point forward our members will know who they want to buy records from, and who they don’t.” In 2004 we expect our members to purchase more then 8 million dollars of material from labels associated with this program." Sweeton Said.

Accepting only the first 1000 new Artist and Label accounts, by invitation only, NCIAA-Trakheadz is soon expected be become the largest indie promotions company in the world.
