Fore Reel Entertainment & MusicDish Network To Raise Breast Cancer Awareness
February 2004 -- New York, NY -- Independent record label Fore Reel Entertainment and music industry magazine MusicDish announced that they would launch a massive online campaign in support of "Music For The Cure: It's About Eve" (http://www.itsabouteve.org). The purpose of the CD is to promote Breast Cancer Awareness to young women and support indie female artists with 100% of net proceeds going to benefit The TJ Martell Foundation, The Libby Ross Foundation and The Comedy Cures Foundation. "I was drawn to MusicDish through the Internet presence that they have provided various artists I have been tracking," said Hernando Courtright, co-President of Fore Reel Entertainment. "It affords an artist or indie label an alternative promotional campaign that would be time consuming to pursue without the network that MusicDish provide." The compilation CD spotlights thirteen indie female artists and features Joan Jett on the bonus track "The Word" (Lennon and McCartney). The group Lava Baby was picked up by Liquid Eight/BMG as a result of the CD. The CD received an Album Spotlight Pick and a feature article in Billboard magazine. "We're proud to be working with Fore Reel Entertainment on such a project," said MusicDish founder & editor Eric de Fontenay. "Music has proven so many times to be an effective tool in raising awareness on critical issues, whether social justice or combatting illnesses such as AIDS & cancer. By working through our network of affiliated sites, we can reach out to a broad audience that share the common goals of defeating breast cancer and supporting great indie artists." MusicDish will leverage its web music network (MusicDish Network) to reach thousands of music fans through websites based across the US, Canada, the UK & Australia. The distributed multi-site campaign includes an in-depth look behind the making of the CD while exposing the 13 great indie female artists that made it possible. A webradio campaign will also be coordinated with the broader multi-site campaign, significantly magnifying its reach. About The Musicdish Network The MusicDish Network produces and distributes original content on today's emerging artists, headline news stories, CD reviews and business/career articles to over 200 affiliated music sites. http://www.musicdish.com/network/ Contact - mailto:network@musicdish.com
