The Canadian Value Of Music Coalition And Harris Institute For The Arts Launch "Opening Act"
(Toronto) The Canadian Value of Music Coalition (CVOMC), along with the students at Toronto's Harris Institute for the Arts, are offering an awesome opportunity for unsigned artists and bands to stream their music on the www.keepmusiccoming.com' Web site.
"The only way for music to evolve is through the support of new artists," remarks John Harris, President of Harris Institute for the Arts. "But you have to find them first! I think the Web is one of the most innovative tools available for finding new and original music."
"We're pleased to be working with Harris Institute on this project," comments Brian Robertson, Chair of the Canadian Value of Music Coalition. "It's a great grass-roots opportunity for emerging artists."
All submissions will be evaluated on:
- production quality
- overall performance
- quality of musical composition
What better way to promote your band then by submitting an original tune? Entering the contest is easy. All you have to do is go to www.keepmusiccoming.com', complete an entry form and send it, along with a copy of your song to Opening Act, Canadian Value of Music Coalition c/o 99 Crown's Lane, Suite 3F, Toronto, ON M5R 3P4 by 26 November 2003.
Just remember that no submissions will be returned and incomplete submissions will not be accepted.
The Value of Music campaign, launched in April, promotes the idea that when someone buys music, they help artists create more music and allow new artists a chance to be heard. What better way to celebrate music than to feature up-and-coming Canadian artists? Entering is just a click away.
