"New World Compositions": Latest CD Release By Albritton McClain
Website: http://www.albrittonmcclain.com/ Music: http://www.albrittonmcclain.com/Dilemma sb128.mp3.mp3 Albritton McClain - Composer, vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist, whose career spans many genres, is best known for his bass work with such recording artists as: blues guitar legend - Roy Buchanan, David Werner, Ram Jam, The Innocent (with Trent Reznor: pre-Nine Inch Nails), and 9 albums with Donnie Iris & The Cruisers. Albritton's latest solo CD release: "New World Compositions" is a journey of original music and ethnic diversity, with an international flavor that crosses musical genres. It contains 16 tracks, is over an hour in length, and accompanies a 12-page full color, art / prose booklet. Predominantly instrumental, it contains two tracks ("Dilemma" and "Love Or Illusion") that were used as the title themes in two Hollywood film productions, ("Dilemma" and "Illusion Infinity", respectively) for which Albritton was the composer, and producer of both entire movie soundtrack scores. "Dilemma" is an orchestral track with Spanish influences and an exotic time-signature. The one vocal track, "Love Or Illusion", is a soulful ballad used as the title song for "Illusion Infinity". It is sung as a duet by Albritton and his sister Monika McClain in this version, but for the film, the lead vocal was originally performed solely by Monika. Dee Wallace Stone (of "E.T.", "The Frighteners", "Cujo" and many other films) plays the part of a world-class singer and lip-syncs to Monika's vocal performance. All the backing tracks were performed by Albritton. The remaining 14 tracks span the gamut from jazz-funk grooves to desertscapes, middle and far-eastern, solo piano and guitar with orchestral touches, latin, ambient, ethereal, tropical environments; truly international and multi-genre. Both of the film scores and this latest CD were recorded and produced entirely at his digital 48-track "Audio Magic Studio" Albritton also performs with his Seattle based Rhythm & Blues group: "Albritton McClain & The Bridge of Souls".
