Abaton #004

On December 1st 1999, Abaton Book Company will release the first 45rpm recording of Marianne Nowottny. This record (ABATON #004) was pressed in white vinyl, in a limited edition of 1000 copies. It contains two songs, Jesus-In -A- Jiffy, a quick and quaint recitation of the Christmas story with musical accompaniment and Sequin Serenade, a young woman's dream of the perfect New Year's celebration. ABATON #004 was produced by Lauri Bortz and engineered by Mark Dagley. Digital mastering was done by New York avant-garde musician /composer Elliott Sharp. Accompanying this release are liner notes by Alexander Wilson.

As the final days of the year, century, and millenium come to a close, this record celebrates the passing of the historic, but also engages the present. Ms. Nowottny's humorous and convincing view of history, mythology, and sentimentality serve as vehicles for her unique musical expression.
