Special Record Release Show with Child and Naked Blue at NYC’s City Winery on November 1
New York - Lee Child, acclaimed author of the bestselling Jack Reacher novel series, has teamed up with celebrated Americana recording duo Naked Blue to co-write Just The Clothes On My Back, a roots-rock album inspired by Reacher’s beloved character. The album resulting from this unconventional collaboration is set for release on November 2 on Bluetick Records and will be available for purchase at http://www.jackreachermusic.com and on all digital platforms.
Naked Blue, along with Child, will perform a special album release show in New York City at City Winery Loft November 1st. The release of the new CD and show coincide with the publication of Child's 23rd Jack Reacher novel, Past Tense, due November 5th.
According to Lee Child, "Making this record was three things in one for me - first, intense fun with my friends Scott and Jen, who are two of the nicest people a guy could hope to meet; second, a fascinating peek at how creativity works in a different medium than my own; and third, it gives me an album I can listen to for the rest of my life and think, hey, wow, I had a part in this."
Child, who has cultivated a decade-long friendship with the performing songwriter duo Jen and Scott Smith of Naked Blue, recently teamed with them to write the entire album of songs set in the Reacher-verse. The result is a 10-song collection that dives deep to illuminate the finer intricacies of Jack Reacher’s character; Cinematic Americana tunes with a rootsy, rock 'n' roll vibe.
The New York City album release show will be intimate and in-the-round, with Naked Blue performing songs from Just The Clothes On My Back and Lee discussing both the songwriting process and Jack Reacher character. Lee will also do some audience Q & A during the performance.
City Winery is the first of a handful of selected dates that Child and Naked Blue will do together over the coming months including November 8 at Houston's Firehouse Saloon and January at The Hamilton in Washington D.C.

About Lee Child
Lee Child was born in 1954 in Coventry, England, but spent his formative years in the nearby city of Birmingham. By coincidence he won a scholarship to the same high school that JRR Tolkien had attended. He went to law school in Sheffield, England, and after part-time work in the theater he joined Granada Television in Manchester for what turned out to be an eighteen-year career as a presentation director during British TV's "golden age." During his tenure his company made Brideshead Revisited, The Jewel in the Crown, Prime Suspect, and Cracker. But he was fired in 1995 at the age of 40 as a result of corporate restructuring.
Always a voracious reader, he decided to see an opportunity where others might have seen a crisis and bought six dollars' worth of paper and pencils and sat down to write a book, Killing Floor, the first in the Jack Reacher series. Killing Floor was an immediate success and launched the series, which includes two films starring Tom Cruise, and has grown in sales and impact with every new installment. This November he releases #23 of the Jack Reacher Series, Past Tense.
Lee spends his spare time reading, listening to music, and watching the Yankees or Aston Villa soccer. He is married with a grown-up daughter. He is tall and slim, despite an appalling diet and a refusal to exercise.
About Naked Blue
Drawing from the Americana tradition mixed with a roots rock sensibility, performing songwriter team Jen and Scott Smith, and their band Naked Blue, have become a mainstay on the singer-songwriter/pop scene. After releasing six full-length Naked Blue albums and building a devoted following for their writing, recording and performing, they look forward to their seventh release – an extraordinary collaboration with bestselling author Lee Child based on his iconic Jack Reacher character, due out November 2018.
Scott and Jen's obvious joyous connection on stage and easy rapport with their audience are the hallmark of their performance style; defined by their interwoven guitar work, Jen's instantly recognizable smoky, vulnerable voice and Scott's passionate, impeccable lead guitar. Over the years they've developed a reputation for great songwriting as well; credits include cuts on Evangeline's 'French Quarter Moon' Margaritaville/MCA, Troy Turner's single on Telarc Records and multiple tracks in TV and film, including Brooklyn South, The Smokers and The Girl Next Door.
Naked Blue has worked with a host of fine artists, sharing stages with John Mayer, Joe Cocker, Dan Fogelberg and Aimee Mann, to name a few. Scott and Jen's Wood and Stone Room recording studio and Wood and Stone Songwriting Retreat in Maryland have led to collaboration credits on a songwriting Who’s Who including Todd Wright, Jon Carroll, Wyatt Easterling, Anton Fig and more.
