June 6, 2018 – Tracklib, the world’s first and only music service that enables music creators to discover, sample, and license original recordings, hosted its inaugural Tracklib Producer Session on May 30th at IMI Studios in New York City. The event was attended by top hip-hop producers Erick Sermon, Rockwilder, and Drumma Boy, who spoke about their experiences with sampling, shared production tips with attendees, and showed off the service by playing beats they created from samples licensed via Tracklib.

Drumma Boy was also announced as the latest member of Tracklib’s Creators Advisory Board, which already includes fellow producers Sermon and Prince Paul. The service is also supported by legendary music executives Tom Silverman (Tracklib U.S. Partner), Founder of Tommy Boy Records and a pioneer of music sampling through music like Afrika Bambaataa’s “Planet Rock” and De La Soul’s “3Ft. High and Rising”; Deborah Mannis-Gardner (Tracklib Partner), Owner/President of DMG Clearances, Inc., and a 25-year veteran of the music clearance business; and Steve Lobel (Tracklib Ambassador), CEO of A2Z Entertainment and a producer/manager who has worked with artists including Run-DMC, Fat Joe, Scott Storch, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, and Nipsey Hussle.

The Producer Session also included speeches from Silverman, Lobel, and Chris Gotti, Founder and CEO of Add Ventures Music. They all discussed their relationship with sampling, its importance to hip-hop and music in general, and how Tracklib is helping them promote creativity in a simple, legal way.

The event culminated in a cypher with attendees taking turns freestyling over beats created by Erick Sermon, Rockwilder, and Drumma Boy using samples cleared via Tracklib.

Tracklib solves a problem that has been plaguing producers, DJs, artists, and others since the rise of sampling in hip-hop and dance music over 30 years ago: how to license and pay for usages in an easy and straightforward manner. The service features a library of over 60,000 tracks and growing — including one of the most sampled songs in music history, “Impeach the President” by the Honeydrippers — that users can browse, download, and license for sampling with the click of a button.

About Tracklib
Launched in April 2018, Tracklib is the world's first and only music service that enables music creators to discover, sample, and license original recordings. The service boasts a library of over 60,000 tracks and growing — including one of the most sampled songs in music history, “Impeach the President” by the Honeydrippers — with no loops or sample packs. Users can browse the library, listen to full tracks, save their favorites to their collections, and search by categories such as genre, region, song key, BPM, or release date. They can then purchase and download songs for $1.99 each, create their own tracks that sample the songs, and then quickly and easily obtain a license for as little as $50. Tracklib’s Creators Advisory Board includes top producers Erick Sermon, Prince Paul, and Drumma Boy. The service is also supported by industry legends Tom Silverman (Tracklib U.S. Partner), Founder of Tommy Boy Records; Deborah Mannis-Gardner (Tracklib Partner), Owner/President of DMG Clearances, Inc.; and Steve Lobel (Tracklib Ambassador), CEO of A2Z Entertainment.
