AIMP Vice President Teri Nelson Carpenter Selected As Delegate To 2017 Global Entrepreneurship Summit In India
November 14, 2017 – Teri Nelson Carpenter, Vice President of the Association of Independent Music Publishers (AIMP) and President/CEO at Reel Muzik Werks LLC, has been selected as a delegate to the 2017 Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES). The event will be co-hosted by the United States of America and the Republic of India from November 28-30 at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre in Hyderabad, India. As a member of the U.S. delegation, which is being led by Ivanka Trump, Carpenter will attend the summit and share her experiences founding Reel Muzik Werks, a full service music rights management company based in El Segundo, CA.
This year’s GES will be built around the theme “Women First, Prosperity for All” with a program focused on supporting women entrepreneurs and fostering economic growth globally. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will kick off the summit at 5 p.m. on November 28, after which the program will focus on four key areas: Energy and Infrastructure; Healthcare and Life Sciences; Financial Technology and Digital Commerce; and Media and Entertainment.
“This selection is a validation of the work our AIMP team is doing to solidify the organization’s international profile, which is crucial to the success of independent music publishers,” said Michael Eames, President of the AIMP. “Teri is a champion of music rights and a successful entrepreneur who understands the importance of thinking globally. She will make a terrific representative for the U.S. at the Global Entrepreneurship Summit.”
“I’m honored to be chosen as a GES delegate and excited to work with the U.S. State Department, Republic of India, and the GES staff,” said Carpenter. “As an entrepreneur in the music world, and specifically the music publishing world, I’m looking forward to sharing my perspective on global song rights as well as the lessons I’ve learned from founding Reel Musik Werks with other business leaders from around the globe.”
The event, which is in its eighth year, will gather nearly 2,000 entrepreneurs, investors, educators, policy makers, government officials, and business executives from around the world to create an environment that empowers innovators, particularly women, to take their ideas to the next level. Through two and a half days of networking, mentoring, and workshops, GES empowers entrepreneurs to pitch their ideas, build partnerships, secure funding, innovate, and find their target customers — creating new goods and services that will transform societies.

The Association of Independent Music Publishers (AIMP) was formed in 1977 and has local chapters in Los Angeles, New York, and Nashville. The organization’s primary focus is to educate and inform music publishers about the most current industry trends and practices by providing a forum for the discussion of the issues and problems confronting the music publishing industry. The opportunity to exchange ideas and opinions with others on issues of mutual concern is fostered by the atmosphere at the AIMP’s monthly meetings, forums, and workshops, the videos of which can be seen (along with more general info on the organization) at http://www.aimp.org.
