FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
San Diego, CA (Wednesday, September 6th, 2017) - - GRAMMY Award-nominated Windwalker Dorn, from Windwalker and the MCW, the San Diego-based traditional Native American Drum Performance Group that showcases traditional drumming and spiritual Native American Flute, is set to perform alongside fellow musicians known as the HomeBase Band; Jeff Oster on Flugelhorn, Shambhu on Guitar, Alec Hamilton on Keyboard, along with Elizabeth Lauer on Percussion/Rattles/Chimes, at "Live Music + Poetry with Deepak Chopra & Kabir Sehgal" during the opening night festivities of, "HOME: Where Everyone Is Welcome - Poems & Songs Inspired by American Immigrants" at The Chopra Center for Wellbeing in the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa, 2013 Costa Del Mar Road, Carlsbad, CA 92009, on Thursday, September 7th, 2017 at 8:00pm.
Deepak Chopra and Kabir Sehgal will present an exclusive LIVE performance of selections from their new album entitled, "HOME: Where Everyone Is Welcome", featuring The HomeBase Band. 'Home', the book, is a collection of 34 poems and 12 songs inspired by a diverse group of immigrants who have made significant contributions to the United States. From Yo-Yo Ma to Audrey Hepburn, Albert Einstein to Celia Cruz, these poems symbolize the many roads that lead to America and which we expect will continue to converge to build the highways to our future. Offering a welcoming feeling intended to inform our cultural conversation and enhance our national dialogue, Home also has 12 accompanying musical pieces that serve as personal meditations on the essence of home, in which you can reflect upon where you feel most welcome, whether a place or state of mind. Written and composed by immigrants and first-generation Americans, Home provides a stronger sense of welcome and belonging for everyone.
