Caroline International, the premier global partner for independent labels and artists, has appointed Aslak Klever to head its operations in the Nordic countries of Denmark, Norway and Sweden.

Reporting jointly to Caroline International Managing Director Michael Roe and Joint MD and Head of Music Jim Chancellor, Klever joins Caroline's previously announced country heads Tina Adams (Germany), Emma Greengrass (UK), Tim Janes (Australia), Fred van Kruining (Benelux) and Thomas Lorain (France).

Klever joins Caroline from Warner Music in Norway where he was Sales Director and Head of Brand Partnerships. After working as a senior Account Manager at media network Scandinavian Broadcasting Systems in Oslo he was appointed Head of Sales at EMI Music Norway in 2010. Two years later was promoted to Head of Sales for Norway and Head of Brand Partnerships for the Nordic Region at Parlophone Label Group and joined Warner Music last year when it acquired PLG.

Roe and Chancellor said: "Aslak is a fantastic addition to the Caroline team and we're thrilled that he's going to lead our Nordic business. There are so many ambitious independent artists and entrepreneurs in the region and it's such a dynamic and growing market that a strong and thriving Caroline business there is central to our goal of delivering the very best results for all our partners."

Klever said: "I'm really happy to be joining Caroline at such an amazing time for the company. Michael and Jim are putting together the best team for supporting independent artists and labels that I think there has ever been and I'm very excited to be a part of it."

Caroline International was established in 2013 to deliver a bespoke service to independent labels and artists in every market and region of the world. Through its dedicated teams around the world the company provides services including marketing, promotion, A&R, commercial, sync and admin whilst utilising and leveraging the global reach of Universal Music's sales and distribution platforms and relationships. Caroline recently agreed a new international partnership with top independent label Glassnote and upcoming releases through Caroline International in 2014 include new recordings from Ben Watt, St Vincent, Kaiser Chiefs, 50 Cent, Glass Animals and Brody Dalle.
