Loa Angeles, CA (February 6, 2014) - YouTube sensation and DOMO Music Group (http://www.domomusicgroup.com/luna/) recording artist, Luna, is coming from Seoul to Southern California for a one-night performance at CSU Long Beach on February 6th.

Luna will be performing rock classics and traditional Korean songs with UCLA Professor of Ethnomusicology, Dong Suk Kim, and pianist Jungmoon Choi.

Her amazing interpretations of the classics by Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Alicia Keys on the "gayageum" have brought her worldwide attention. A Korea Times article recently dubbed Luna "Pink Floyd with a 12-String Twist" (http://www.koreatimes.co.kr/www/news/culture/2014/01/143_ 146081.html).

Luna's mesmerizing performance of traditional Korean songs also infuse the genre with renewed vitality and exuberance. Music fans can find her dynamic performances of "Voodoo Child," "All Along the Watchtower," "If I Ain't Got You," and other tunes on the "Luna Gayageum" YouTube channel (http://www.youtube. com/user/luna422422).

"Luna: In concert" is coming to the Daniel Recital Hall, February 6, 2014 at 8:00 PM, on the campus of California State University, Long Beach. Parking is available in Lot 12. Tickets are available through Carpenter Arts Center (https://web.ovationtix.com/ trs/pe.c/9881876), or at the door.

Part of the "Asian Traditions / Contemporary Creations" Performance Series, in conjunction with the "Traditions Transfigured: The Noh Masks of Bidou Yamaguchi" exhibition, on view now at the University Art Museum until April 13.
More on Luna: Luna's debut album from Domo Records features her performing on a 20 and 25 string traditional Korean instrument, called the Gayageum.

With the exception of Luna’s instrument, the music she performs is anything but traditional. With inspired performances and dazzling skill, Luna has become a virtual sensation amassing scores of YouTube views, exhibiting her remarkable ability to bridge Eastern culture with Western influences.

The album features 3 original songs by Luna as well as notable versions of classic rock songs on the Korean instrument that include Jimi Hendrix’s “Voodoo Child (Slight Return)” and Pink Floyd’s “The Great Gig In The Sky”. The album also includes inspired renditions of Air’s “Alone In Kyoto”, Ryuichi Sakamoto’s “Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence” as well as a note for note version of Stevie Ray Vaughan’s Jimi Hendrix tribute to “Little Wing”.
