Hollywood's Pianist Margie Balter Celebrates Inspiration Mar. 5
Website: http://bedifferentlyonline.blogspot.com/2013/02/hollywoods-piano-[...] "HOLLYWOOD'S PIANO TEACHER" MARGIE BALTER GATHERS CURRENT AND PAST HOLLYWOOD STUDENTS AND PLAYING FOR CHANGE FOUNDATION TO CELEBRATE THE INSPIRING BOND BETWEEN MUSIC TEACHERS AND STUDENTS AS "MUSIC IN OUR SCHOOLS MONTH" KICKS OFF WHO: Known in the entertainment industry as the "Hollywood's Piano Teacher," artist/actress/educator/composer Margie Balter's celeb student roster reads more like a Red Carpet affair: Balter taught Holly Hunter to play the piano in preparation for what became an Oscar-winning tour de force performance in "The Piano)," Tom Cruise bit in to his condensed experience for his piano-playing role in "Interview with a Vampire," Sandra Bullock logged on with Margie to tickle the ivories in "The Net," Scarlett Johanssen, too, as well as the children of some of our most beloved movie stars and icons. Joining Balter throughout the evening will be current and past students including Paige Hurd (star of "Beauty Shop"), Magnus Ferrell proud parents are Will & Viveca Ferrell), Graham Berger Sacks (prodigy on both "Ellen" and "Oprah"), and other amazing musicians and vocalists. Elizabeth Hunter, Executive Director, Playing For Change Foundation also will be part of the evening. WHAT: To help kick off "Music in Our Schools" month, Balter is bringing together current and previous students to celebrate the important bond between music educators and their students across the globe. Guests will witness the palpable impact as teacher inspires students and students inspire teacher in real-time. The talented group will be performing selections from Balter's award-winning CD titled "Music from My Heart" and celebrating the release of her companion songbook. They also will be speaking from the heart as participants and attendees are asked to share the important and positive effect music has on their lives and the world.
