MusicDish*China Distributes Robert Nix Album "Walk Down The Street" Through R2G
MusicDish*China, the Asia arm of music media & marketing company MusicDish LLC, announced the release of experimental rock-pop musician Robert Nix' album "Walk Down The Street" in China through digital distributor R2G. MusicDish*China has launched a marketing campaign on major social media sites (weibo, douban, diandian,...) and forums in China in support of the album release. The digital album and individual tracks are available for sale on R2G's retail music portal at http://www.wa3.cn/release.htm?actionType=view&rid=10068257
"Walk Down The Street" is a guided tour on an avenue crowded with contradictions. Walk down a busy city street and we're bombarded by images of glamorous people we'll never be, lifestyles we'll never have, expensive stuff we'll never own, and beautiful celebrities we'll never know. It's a landscape owned by the few and populated by the many who are part of it but feel like outsiders.
Nix doesn't just see the world; he feels and experiences and translates it into music. So Nix changes tempo to draw attention to a section of a song that might otherwise get lost in the mix. Or he'll strip away all other sound and let one instrument speak. His lyrics are like a bittersweet diary. And his lines are colored with off-notes and tempo changes heard in experimental music like early Pink Floyd with Sid Barrett, Devo, and REM.
