OKMusic Offer $100 Gift Card For Best Song About Giving Thanks
Hollywood – Nov. 1, 2012 – OKMusic.fm is looking for great original songs that celebrate giving thanks in different ways. The contest is part of monthly competitions created by OKMusic to help new talent showcase their work. All song entries need to do is honor the act of being thankful. OKMusic is looking for anything from serious to sentimental to funny songs, from rock to hip hop to children’s songs. Examples of great songs of the past include: • What a Wonderful World - Louis Armstrong • Thank You – Led Zeppelin • Thank You Girl – The Beatles • Thank You for the Music – Abba • Kind and Generous – Natalie Merchant • Thank You – Dido • Thank God for Hometowns – Carrie Underwood • The Thanksgiving Song – Adam Sandler • America F*** Yeah – Trey Parker and Matt Stone • Thank You – Jay-Z • Thanks for the Memories – Fall Out Boy The winning song will be showcased on the front page of OKMusic and exposed to the site’s thousands of worldwide visitors. The winner will also receive a $100 gift certificate from Amazon, a crystalline star trophy laser-etched with the artist/band’s name and OKMusic winner stickers the artist/band can use to promote locally. “The OKMusic song contests are our way of helping struggling artists get their music out to new people and build their fan base,” Akiko Asami, CEO, OKMusic, explains. “We are creating a community where the stars of tomorrow can be discovered, and maybe get their first big break.” Submissions are now open. The winner will be selected by the OKMusic community. Voting will start as soon as the first song is uploaded to the site. The entry that receives the most likes by Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, the final day of the contest, will be declared the winner. Songs must be an original composition; no covers by other songwriters. Musicians submitting songs should be sure to fill out their profile on the site, so they can be properly promoted if they win.
