17TH ANNUAL GOSPEL RAMA CONTINUES TRADITION OF LOVE, PRAISE, AND MUSIC AT PHILADELPHIA'S LOVE PARK ON SEPTEMBER 22
PHILADELPHIA - Gospel Rama, a longstanding tradition in the City of Brotherly Love, will bring its music and words of peace, love, and praise to Love Park, in the heart of Philadelphia, on Saturday, September 22.
The Gospel Rama begins at 11 a.m. with the sounding of the Shofar followed by seven ministers of the Gospel each praying individually. The event then continues with Gospel and Contemporary Christian music, featuring "America's Got Talent" phenomenon Voices of Glory and Waiting for the Flood, preaching of the Word, praise dancing, and a picnic. The Gospel Rama will end promptly at 6:00 p.m.
The Gospel Rama was founded by Drs. Joses and Chantal St. Phard, Pastors of the Word In Action International Ministries, Inc., in September 1995 with the vision to evangelize the entire city of Philadelphia and the community at large by gathering together one day a year via Gospel Rama and a Christian picnic.
"This year we are once again committed to evangelize the city of Philadelphia via praising, worshipping the Lord, preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ," said Chantal St. Phard. "The spiritual flavor will be offered to all in our community. We would like to reach those who are lost and unable to feel the love of Christ in their lives."
The Gospel Rama ran from its inception until September 2011 at Love Park before transferring to City Hall. Due to repairs at City Hall, the festival is returning to its original home for its 17th event.
"Love Park is where this all began in 1995," St. Phard said. "Returning to Love Park is refreshing and we feel that it has risen to a greater level of love and compassion. We will preach the Word and show God's love. It will be a day of unity in the City of Brotherly Love."
Gospel Rama's founders have fully funded the event by themselves and offer this free festival as part of their community outreach. The couple also does outreach ministries by feeding the homeless on the streets of Philadelphia.
