MONEY FIRST RELEASES “DIGITAL MONEY” THROUGH NEW BLOCK STARZ MUSIC DISTRIBUTION SERVICE
Website: http://blockstarzdigital.com New Jersey Rap Group's Debut Album Is First Release Through CD Baby, Tunecore Competitor (TRENTON) Money First Music Group has released, DIGITAL MONEY, the debut album from Trenton, New Jersey rap outfit, Money First. DIGITAL MONEY is the first project to be serviced through Block Starz Digital, www.blockstarzdigital.com, the newly-formed distribution arm of German-American digital imprint Block Starz Music LLC, www.blockstarzmusic.com. Money First, which consists of members Boom Blake, ILL Kayn, Tranzatick, and JLP, originally appeared on 2009's EAST COAST BLOCK STARZ compilation alongside rising underground stars like Wiz Khalifa, Sha Stimuli, and Red Cafe. Money First followed up their national exposure from EAST COAST BLOCK STARZ with their first official promotional release, The Blog Goon Mixtape, whose title referred to the group's aggressive online promotional efforts in “attacking” Hip-Hop blogs. The first song released from the 16-track DIGITAL MONEY album, “Nothing Less” produced by Ill Kayn, was made available in April for free download and immediately struck a chord with fans who gravitated to its infectious “Gucci Louie” hook. Money First has now released the first official single and video from DIGTAL MONEY, the pop-tinged aspirational track entitled “We Soaring”. Created as an alternative to CD Baby and Tunecore, Block Starz Digital offers promotional services from the self-described “world's most talked about independent digital label” in addition to placement on e-stores like iTunes, Amazon, and Rhapsody. DIGITAL MONEY will be part of a soft launch for the service which is scheduled to officially launch in December 2011 with a new e-commerce website. “Our company's ongoing mission is to provide a true link to the marketplace for independent artists at various stages of career development,” says Block Starz vice-president of A&R Jonathan Hertz. “We believe Block Starz Digital is a unique service that will greatly assist business-minded artists, like Money First, affordably self-market and promote their music online.” DIGITAL MONEY by Money First available on iTunes AUGUST 10.
