Indie Rock Band Rabbit! Partners With Barefoot Books, B. Toys And ZUMIX For Boston Tour Dates
On Friday, June 15, Rabbit! will visit Barefoot Books Studio (89 Thoreau Street, Concord) for a free all-ages concert at 10:30 a.m. Then at 6:30 p.m. Rabbit! will perform a free concert at ZUMIX (260 Sumner Street, East Boston). B. toys is generously supporting Rabbit!’s Music Stand throughout the tour with a donation of 2,000 bee-shaped maracas for young and old to shaka-shake along with. "We want to use this summer tour as a vehicle to shine a little light on those individuals that, despite the economic circumstances, are still finding a way to provide a creative education and outlet for our nation's youth," said band co-founder Ashton Allen. "We’re delighted to team up with Rabbit! and B. toys to host this wonderful family concert in our Concord Studio this summer. Every day we aim to bring our books to life and foster children’s imaginations with all types of creative activities – from storytelling and crafts to music and dance. A concert which celebrates the creative vibrancy that is essential to childhood – music, art, songs and stories, all combined with a whole lot of fun – will definitely be a real treat for our community!" said Nancy Traversy, co-founder and CEO of Barefoot Books. "We're thrilled our little bee maracas will be buzzing right along with Rabbit! on their summer tour. This is a show you won't want to miss—both for the delightful music and important message," said B. chief toymaker Gisela Voss. "B. YOU is the core of our mission, so we will always support efforts that enable kids to express their hearts and selves through art and music." "We are so excited to have this opportunity to connect our youth with professional musicians who are creating positive music and spreading awareness around youth arts funding. We believe that music is a powerful tool for engaging youth and building community, and we hope that this collaboration will spread joy to our neighborhood," said Nikki Stewart, development manager for ZUMIX.
