GIVE TO THE GULF!

(WEST SIMSBURY, CT)- September 3, 2010- The band LittleHouse finds inspiration for its music from events, big and small. The devastation dealt by Hurricane Katrina changed New Orleans forever and continues to reverberate five years later in the music of this CT-based group. Katrina was the motivation for one of the band’s newest and most notable songs, “Down in the Delta” and now, LittleHouse hopes to play a role in the continued rebuilding of the gulf coast especially with this summer’s oil spill disaster.

“We may be a great distance from the gulf physically, but emotionally we stand alongside the people of the region,” said Little House lead singer, Joe Patrina. “Whenever we play this song it always draws a profound reaction from audiences.”

Give to the Gulf is a worldwide relief effort by musicians aimed at helping citizens of the gulf coast. The organization strives to make a difference in the region, one song at a time with the release of two tribute CD’s on iTunes. LittleHouse’s “Down in the Delta” appears on Give to the Gulf, Volume 2, alongside the work of thirteen other musicians. It is also featured on LittleHouse’s upcoming CD entitled, God and America.

“We’re thrilled to be part of this collaborative project,” said Patrina. “If our music can help provide any kind of relief to the people of the gulf, that’s a great thing.”
The Give to the Gulf, Vol. 2 CD is a fully charitable endeavor. The musicians and technologists who compiled the collection did so by donating their time to the cause. All of the money raised through iTunes downloads directly benefits the United Way Gulf Recovery Fund targeted for the people and communities suffering along the Gulf.

The band LittleHouse was formed in 2008. Singer/songwriter Joe Patrina’s music covers a kaleidoscope of American styles. It is performed by a troupe of artists whose ages run from 23 to 60, who all share a passion for America’s “heartland” sound.
