Rockin' Moms Announces 2009 Song Contest Winners!

They are thrilled to announce the winners of this year’s Rockin’ Moms Song Contest. Songs entered had to reflect a motherhood theme about being a mom, your mom, what a mother means to you, the job of parenting, love for a child etc. The 1st place winner is Stacy Duvall from Spearfish, SD and her song, “Superman.” Stacy won $1,000 in cash, a Daisy Rock Guitar, 1000 CD artist promo package from Crystal Clear, products from D'Addario, Planet Waves, Indie Venue Bible, Indiegrrl memberships, Kilroy-Media web hosting, Nette Radio CD preview and Rockin' Moms radio promo and platinum memberhsip! ”My kids teach me everyday to look at things with an open mind. They believe that they can do and be anything they set their mind to. That is one reason why Kylin is exactly what the song states- my little superman. He and my daughter love music just like me and it is something wonderful that we can share together,” explains Stacy when talking about inspiration for the song. Rockin’ Moms looks forward to exposing Stacy’s undiscovered talent and hopes the prizes and acknowledgment help to further her music career. The 2nd place winner is Singer-Songwriter Holly Figueroa O’ Reilly’s song “Mary, Mary” written about the tough decisions Mother’s face and 3rd place went to Sue Fabisch’s comic musical number, “The Kids Are Finally Asleep.” Rockin’ Moms also awarded ten Honorable mentions to Arlene Kole (CA), Joy and Lara(AUS), Chad Lore(WY), Danielle Cales(IN), Edwin Booth(CA), Beth McDonald(MD), Karen Potje(CANADA), Debra Alt(CT), Toucanz Tree(AUS) and Linq(MA) for earning high marks for their songs submitted. The songs, artist stories and notes are currently all showcased on the Rockin' Moms website, e-Zine, newsletter and will be featured on the Rockin' Moms Podcast Radio show. This contest was open to both professional and amateur songwriters. Winners were chosen by a panel of Music Industry professionals and Rockin' Moms staff who judged entries with a scoring system based on originality, melody, composition, lyrics and relation to the motherhood theme.
