KID:NAP:KIN Album Release Show At T.T. The Bear's Place, Thursday, April, 24 With Honest Thomas And Eroica
Local agro-indie-soul trio KID:NAP:KIN will celebrate the release of their sophomore album, Hush Now… on Friday, April 24, 2008, at T.T. the Bear's Place, 10 Brookline St., Cambridge, MA. The show is 18+, $9, and begins at 9:00 p.m. Please call 617-492-BEAR for more information. Local bands Honest Thomas and Eroica will also perform. KID:NAP:KIN, the 2007 Boston Music Award winners for "Best New Act," recorded their new album with producer, Mike Cosgrove (Alien Ant Farm). As a more focused and mature band, KID:NAP:KIN crafted Hush Now… over a two-year span, concluding with recording sessions in Riverside, California. Known for his keen ear and attention to detail, Cosgrove was able to work with the band to think outside the musical box, a difficult task for any sophomore release. The result: a cohesive concept reminiscent of Led Zeppelin's IV or Alice in Chains' Jar or Flies. Yet again, KID:NAP:KIN maintained the energy, talent and soul that define the band. The band consists of Daniel Ellis (lead vocals/guitar), Jamila Weaver (bass) and Patrick Hanlin (drums/vocals), three Berklee College of Music alumni who have established themselves in the local music scene with their pounding, odd-meter rhythms and jazz-infused melodies. "…best suited for the intellectually-inclined headbanger, rock 'n' roller, punk rocker, or anyone who just prefers their music loud," (Northeast Performer) KID:NAP:KIN released their debut EP, Touring The Riot Scene in December 2006 with Sidehatch Entertainment. Since the EP hit stores, KID:NAP:KIN toured the country as featured performers on the Best of Emergenza National Tour, played the CMJ Music Marathon in New York City, the WBCN Rock 'n' Roll Rumble, and two shows at SXSW in Texas.
