The Teenage Prayers "Everone Thinks You're The Best" In Stores
"Everyone Thinks You're The Best," the sophomore release from NYC based The Teenage Prayers, hits stores. Distributed by MRI/Red, the album is available digitally through iTunes, Amazon, Borders, Barnes and Noble, Virgin and others, and available in fine record stores and chains including Amoeba, Newbury, Virgin, Dimple, In Sound, and many more. All Music Guide: Everyone Thinks You're the Best is a rocking good time, executed with soul and conviction, and ultimately a wonderful endorsement for a band that must be a blast in a live setting. Bruce Warren of WXPN-Philly: Frontman Tim Adams comes with the drama and energy so lacking in indie-rock these days and his brother Terry is adept at riffing on soul music as he is with the classic rock. The songs on this album promise you a bright future should you indulge. The Tripwire: "Everyone knows music achieved perfection in 1974," explains Homer Simpson. "It's a scientific fact." I wager that the Teenage Prayers not only agree with Mr. Simpson, but also are hard at work developing the time machine capable of transporting an entire band back and forth to that point in our history. Until that day, they--and we--will have to live in the present and enjoy Everyone Thinks You're The Best, the second album from a band poised to resurrect and revitalize the past. PopMatters.com: Bucking the "nostalgia band" trend by being authentically nostalgic, the Teenage Prayers cause you to give blessings to that raw, purely enthusiastic adolescent music fan in all of us. Brooklyn Rocks: The forthcoming sophomore release from The Teenage Prayers hasn't left my CD player for the last week. The band's music is somewhat of a throwback to the 70's but it touches on all points of the spectrum. There are elements of Cheap Trick, New York Dolls, Queen and California funk-rock on this disc. The Teenage Prayers continue their SXSW Tour with 5 dates remaining of the 13 stop tour. The band played 4 successful shows in Austin, TX during SXSW including a Stubb's Cellar show along side Nicole Atkins on the night of the R.E.M. show, an Amoeba Records showcase also sponsored by CarsonDaly.TV, and the After The Jump showcase curated by a number of influential music bloggers. The band is keeping a video diary of their journey, including performance footage, which can be seen at www.youtube.com/TheTeenagePrayers. The tour concludes on March 22nd in Baltimore. SXSW TOUR DATES Tue, 3.18 The Groove (In-Store), Nashville TN Wed, 3.19 Star Bar, Atlanta, GA Thu, 3.20 The Milestone, Charlotte NC Fri, 3.21 Slim's Downtown, Raleigh NC Sat, 3.22 The Lo-Fi Social Club, Baltimore MD ADDITIONAL UPCOMING DATES Fri, 3.28 TT the Bear's, Boston, MA (Boston CD Release Show) Sat, 3.29 The Oasis, New London, CT Sat, 4.5 Soundfix (In-Store), Brooklyn, NY (New York CD Release Show)
