Fans Of Bass Ace Joseph Patrick Moore Celebrate 2 Hot New CD Releases.
Article by Laura Jenney Of Mindsweep Entertainment & Promotions VPofMindsweep@aol.com 2/27/08 Great news for the many fans of jazz bass ace Joseph Patrick Moore, who in recent years has emerged as one of the fastest rising phenoms in both the elite circles of jazz, and respected throughout the music industry for his pioneering style of performing lead on (electric, double and fretless), bass. Before fans have even winded down from celebrating the recent release of Joseph Patrick Moore's outstanding new CD "Pause", which was just released in December, Joseph Patrick Moore has outdone himself once again, as JPM is set to release yet another brand new CD, "Thumper" (on Blue Canoe Records), this coming Spring. And you can bet, there is no false advertising in that title, as his many fans worldwide can attest, when it comes to JPM's innate prowess and style on bass. The concept of Joseph Patrick Moore's new CD "Pause", is a compilation of dedication songs in appreciation to his musical and 'other' influences, and even features 'a little something extra' for fans, in the form of an 18 minute audio interview. Track #1 is a dedication piece to the legendary Miles Davis, and was originally recorded in 1996, and was featured on JPM's "Never Neverland" CD. Track #2 is dedicated to peace, and was originally recorded in 2003, right before the US invasion of Iraq. Track #3 is a dedication to four people... Bass great Victor Wooten, Guitarist Bill Frizzel, Bassist Ron Carter, and jazz great Dave Holland. Track #4 is dedicated to legendary bass great Jacko Pastorius. Track #5 is dedicated to Tony Williams who started his very successful career with Miles Davis as a drummer. One reason for Joseph Patrick Moore's vast popularity with fans both nationally and worldwide, is the fact that Joseph Patrick Moore's amazing prowess extends fluently in such an immense spectrum of genres, covering every style of jazz under the sun, ranging from an old school classic jazz sound to smooth contemporary, to all extremes and variations of rock, funk, with hues of even classical and beyond, and is a true master of them all! JPM's upcoming CD release "Thumper" however, will be focused more on the experimental and contemporary style of jazz. The current line up of musicians performing on the JPM's "Thumper" CD, consists of a guest appearance of Dan Baraszu on guitar, Kenya Boto on percussion, Ben Taylor on drums, and of course, JPM at the helm with his innovative style of performing lead on bass. Though JPM's upcoming CD "Thumper" will actually be JPM's 8th CD, Joseph Patrick Moore has just in recent years, started gaining the recognition this true master bass jazzman deserves within the press and media, as the great performer that he unquestionably and undeniably is. Joseph Patrick Moore is in fact, a well seasoned veteran player, having some of the music industry's most recognized and respected players performing either on his CD's, or requesting JPM to perform and/or tour with them, making Joseph Patrick Moore one of the most 'in demand' players around, and well renowned as a true 'musician's musician' within the heavy hitting circles of the music industry, and has been so for over a decade. In fact, JPM's outstanding CD "Decade", which was released in 2005, was aptly named for the celebratory mark of Joseph Patrick Moore's tenth year as a professional touring musician. JPM's "Decade" CD features performing credits from such greats as: Jon Chalden, (Sheryl Crow), Jimmy Herring, (Grateful Dead), Buzz Amato, (Curtis Mayfield), Yanrico Scott, (Derek Trucks Band), Jeff Sipe, (Susan Tedeschi), Adam Nitti, (Steven Curtis Chapman), amongst others. Joseph Patrick Moore has also just completed touring this past Fall, performing with The Chris Duarte Group, with dates in Rome and Milano, Italy; Prague, Czech Republic; in Canada at the Montreal Jazz Fest, and other dates. And in February, performing at the Moscow Performing Arts Center in Russia, and on to other dates on the West Coast.of the US, then onto a number of dates in UK, Germany, France, Amsterdam, Holland, Belgium, London, and others by the end of March/April. Joseph Patrick Moore's recognition within the press and media may have been a little slow in catching up with JPM's measurable success, but when it finally starting catching up with him, it was as though he were a (12 year) 'overnight success'. The last article alone which I wrote on JPM was published in approximately 500 very esteemed publications both nationally and worldwide. (Which no doubt, was greatly appreciated by JPM, myself and all parties concerned, and his immense fan base everywhere). Nowadays, Joseph is press and media catnip, and with good reason; as yes, Joseph Patrick Moore is undeniably a true world class performer, but is also well known as one who has put to use his influence and popularity to help so many others through his activism work. Joseph Patrick Moore is actively involved in making a stand on such issues as: domestic violence, animal rights, nature and wildlife preservation, natural resources/conservation, music education, helping the poor, and is well known for making a difference for so many other causes, and addressing many issues. In mine, and many other's opinions, this makes Joseph Patrick Moore not only a world class act as a performer and a musician, but a world class act as a human being as well. One can check out both where Joseph Patrick Moore has been featured in the press and media and see what organizations JPM is involved in via his official website at josephpatrickmoore.com. To purchase any of Joseph Patrick Moore's 8 outstanding CD's, including his upcoming release "Thumper", one can do so online at I Tunes, E Music and musicdownloads.walmart.com/ or in stores at Barnes and Noble, Books a Million and Best Buy. JPM's new release "Pause" however, can be purchased exclusively through I Tunes. Fans can request to hear Joseph Patrick Moore's music on jazz and adult contemporary radio stations everywhere, as JPM's music is currently being played on a large number of mainstream, college, internet and satellite radio stations both nationally and worldwide. Of course, a tour to promote both of JPM's outstanding new CD's are in the works at T&T Management and Booking Agency, where JPM is exclusively signed, and we are currently accepting dates for his upcoming tour, which is scheduled to kick off this Spring/early Summer after the release of "Thumper", and immediately after JPM's dates on the current tour are wrapped up. (Yeah, JPM is indeed a pretty 'action packed' kind of guy.) For more information on truly great artist, Joseph Patrick Moore, one can visit JPM's official website at www.josephpatrickmoore.com . JPM is also featured on WikiMusicGuide, and one can learn more about him by visiting that site at www.wikimusicguide.com. Though writing articles on the best artists in the biz is my job as a PR, Press and Media Relations Specialist at Mindsweep Entertainment & Promotions, and though I am also Joseph Patrick Moore's Booking Agent through T&T Management and Booking Agency, this is one assignment I am especially thrilled to work on to bring the great news of not one, but 2 new releases from amazing jazz great Joseph Patrick Moore to his many fans; as I am one of JPM's biggest fans myself! No doubt, I am looking forward to celebrating with many other fellow fans at concerts on JPM's upcoming tour. Looking forward to seeing you there! The End.
