The Handcuffs Are Recording Their Next Record Scheduled To Be Released Later This Year
(Chicago, IL)—February 28, 2008 Indie rock band, The Handcuffs, have returned to the studio to record songs for their forthcoming sophomore album. The duo is working with Mike Hagler (Wilco, Neko Case) at Chicago‘s Kingsize Sound Laboratories. The band hopes to follow in the success of their self-released debut album, “Model for a Revolution,” also produced by Hagler. The Handuffs are the songwriting/performance/production team of Brad Elvis and Chloe F. Orwell. Their songs are composite inspired by life in 4/4 time; an array of music (from Sparks to Garbage and Brazil 66 to Led Zeppelin); and the innovative fashion and photography of the late designer Rudi Gernreich, iconic mod 1960s fashion model Peggy Moffitt and renowned photographer William Claxton (the latter of whom are also partners in life). Songs from “Model for a Revolution,” as well as unreleased (as of yet) Handcuffs’ tracks, have been placed in numerous television shows and feature films, including MTV’s The Hills, Laguna Beach, Next and Pimp My Ride; programs on A&E, E! and other networks; along with the Sundance and SXSW award winning documentary “The Education of Shelby Knox.” As if there weren’t enough already, The Handcuff’s and their music have been gathering raves from across the music community. Blondie drummer and recent Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Clem Burke, Late Night with David Letterman/CBS Orchestra bassist Will Lee, and legendary groupie and sculptor Cynthia Plaster Caster, among many others have lent their support to this daily-being-discovered talent.
