Tokyo & Hollywood Based Music Marketing Agency Syn Expands With Official Launch Of Beijing Office

Syn, founded by Simon Le Bon of Duran Duran, his wife Yasmin Le Bon, and long-time collaborator and creative director Nick Wood, announced the official launch of the Beijing office to its growing name, broadening the horizons of the Tokyo-based music marketing agency, which also has a Hollywood office.

Simon Le Bon stated, "Over the course of three decades, Syn has become an increasingly important part of my creative life. Writing and recording with Nick and other members of the Syn team has enabled me to discover and develop musical aspects which I would never have visited within the confines of Duran Duran. I love the company and everything we stand for."

Creative Director Nick Wood added, "I've been leading Syn's musical journey for the past 25 years, from Tokyo to Los Angeles and most recently Beijing. I'm excited about our continued growth in the U.S. and love introducing our clients to new sounds and musical possibilities from our incredible collection of talent. I'm blessed to work with clients who have an insatiable hunger for music that challenges the status quo."

This next step towards expanding the company's reach is accompanied with the launch of a new website and music library, the Syn Songs Library. The Library features artists performing songs exclusively represented by the agency in a new series called Syn Sessions. Their latest release, "Catch" by Japanese band Remigai, aired on the last season of HBO's hit show, Girls.

Syn also announced that they have signed with Veronica Lombardo's VLM independent sales and management company for West Coast commercial advertising representation. This partnership broadens VLM's roster of clients, which includes names in motion graphics, live-action comedy creation and beauty finishing.

Veronica expressed, "Having known Nick Wood and the Syn team for over a year, I am thrilled to be officially working together to better establish Syn as a key player in the U.S. music arena. The combination of their deep roots in the Asian market, entwined with my strong relations to production companies, TV networks, and advertising agencies alike, will ensure a strong 2017 for everyone at Syn."

The firm produces creative commercial music for brands and media worldwide through its four creative departments, which work in tandem to develop concepts that realize clients' marketing visions and needs. Syn's esteemed clients include: CNN, Square Enix, Disney Japan, Nike, Toyota, Nissan, Mercedes-Benz, Veuve Clicquot, and The Ritz-Carlton.

An exclusive remix of Ariana Grande's "Touch It" by Nick Wood, produced through collaboration between Ariana Grande, Square Enix, Synertech, and Syn, was recently announced. The remix aims to promote Ariana Grande as a new character in the popular mobile game FINAL FANTASY BRAVE EXVIUS by Square Enix.

As a global music agency, Syn is accustomed to working with multinational companies. Syn's new Beijing office, headed by Music Producer Kurt Pan and Account Manager Yoko Chang, is off to a strong start with the firm's exclusive partnership with the Beijing office of BBDO, the "Most Awarded Agency Network in the World," having collaborated on the global campaign for the new Mercedes E-Class 2017, as well as a nation-wide campaign for Dove Chocolate on what is considered the first ASMR content by a global brand.

Syn's Hollywood office, launched by Music Producer Seiya Matsumiya in 2014, oversees Syn's work in the United States. Shortly after the inception of the US office, Syn produced the theme for CNN Worldwide's branding campaign "CNN. Go There.", which has since been played globally in many variations. Their collaborative work, "At the Heart of the Story," starring Anderson Cooper and Anthony Bourdain, scored an Emmy nomination in 2016 and won six awards at the coveted 2016 PromaxBDA Awards, including Use of Original Music/Score. Syn USA recently hired Music Producer Farin Hoover to further develop their business in the US.
