Forward-thinking radio production company Folded Wing has teamed up with Brasil Música & Artes and Apex-Brasil to produce a monthly hour-long radio show Brasil Music Exchange that showcases the very best in new, emerging music from Brazil.

Presented by Brazilian music expert, Jody Gillett, Brasil Music Exchange focuses on the exciting new music, artists and local scenes coming out of Brazil in 2014, covering all genres, from jazz to pop, rock, funk and dance. With special guests, live sessions and hand-picked playlists the Brasil Music Exchange radio shows explores the diverse sounds and styles unique to the country, covering the entire spectrum of contemporary Brazilian music.

The first Brasil Music Exchange show launched in February 2014 and showcases new music from each of the 12 host cities of this year’s summer of sport in Brazil. Each subsequent show will focus on the music and artists from the 12 host cities and beyond, starting with Recife and Rio de Janeiro in March, Salvador and Sao Paulo in April, and Manaus, Fortaleza, Natal & Belem (Amazon/North)in May.

Karen Pearson, CEO and Founder of Folded Wing, said; “At Folded Wing, we’re all huge fans of Brazilian music and exciting, emerging new artists. Brasil Music Exchange will be an amazing opportunity for new Brazilian artists to have their music heard on new platforms across the world, which is a really good thing.”

David McLoughlin, International Manager for Brasil Música & Artes, said; "With so many new ways to discover music, radio continues to be the key influence and inspiration for music fans worldwide. We are thrilled to present this show bringing the best new Brazilian sounds to a global audience."

Richard D'Cruze, British Airways' in-flight entertainment manager, said; “We aim to offer a wide range of entertainment to our customers and this summer the many excited travellers on our flights to Brazil can get in the mood with a selection of the best in Brazilian music, compiled and presented by true experts in the local scene.”

The Brasil Music Exchange show is hosted on Mixcloud, the British Airways in-flight entertainment system, and will be syndicated to stations around the world.
