Dylan Starrs was born in Dallas, Texas, and since 2005, he has travelled, lived, played, written, and sung his way from San Diego, to New York, ultimately calling Santa Monica home. His songs and his voice reflect the ups, downs, lefts, rights, spoils, and toils of his traveling. His distinct and modern take on folk music is heavily influenced by a variety of songwriters including Townes Van Zandt, Tom Waits, Jeff Tweedy, and of course his namesake, Bob Dylan. He has been recognized for his songwriting as a finalist for ASCAP's Robert Allen Songwriting Award and a semi-finalist for NPR's New Song Mountain Stage Songwriting Contest. He is currently working on his first full length LP, tentatively titled, "Red Flags and White Flags." His EP, "The Terribyl 22's" is available on iTunes, and new songs are posted to his youtube channel at youtube.com/dylanstarrsmusic.
Growing up in London, Ontario, and listening to Alison Krauss, Celine Dion, Bryan Adams, and Christina Aguilera were a few of her favorites, singer/songwriter Morgan Tobias decided to make the move to Nashiville in 2009. After being introduced and taken around the famed Music Row, she signed with Big Country Records in early 2011. Her most recent effort is a co-write with hit songwriters James Slater and Erik Dylan called "The Last Song." She made the move to Los Angeles early 2013 and made the top 16 Girls category on the latest season of X Factor. She’s continuing to write, work with producers and play local shows, so stay tuned. Morgan’s life in music is also her joy: “I’ve just always known that music is what I want to do, I’ve never had a plan B.”
Piano virtuoso Dave Yaden (vocals/keys) and soul diva Candace Devine (vocals) have joined to form the latest “Bonnie and Clyde” of rock/soul. Formed in late 2010 in Los Angeles, this duo has already created major industry buzz. By combining both members’ previous successes and musical talents, mainstream status is sure to come. Candace Devine is a professional vocalist who has performed as a backup singer and recorded for international artists including Christina Aguilera, Tony Lucca, and Steven Van Zant. Dave Yaden is a Grammy award winning songwriter who has written and toured with artists such as Lady Antebellum, One Republic, and Willie Nelson. David & Devine released their first EP in February of 2011.
Sonja Midtune is an alternative-rock artist from Minnesota based in Los Angeles who combines dark lyrics, with a Northern-pop sound. She released her first single, "There's A Fire," on January 7, 2014, now available on iTunes for download. Sonja Midtune plays around the Hollywood area, frequenting Bar Lubitsch and Room 5.
Charles McDonald has been singing for as long as he can remember. Recently moving to Los Angeles to pursue a career in the music industry, Charles brings together honest, down to earth lyrics with memorable melodies, creating a sound that crosses genres. His influences are wide, ranging from Paul McCartney to Frank Sinatra, Elton John to Sufjan Stevens. McDonald's music and voice brings an air of nostalgia to the forefront, truly bridging the gap between the iconic songwriting of the 60's and 70's, and the popular music of today.
Clare Means is a Los Angeles based singer/songwriter. She is known in the LA music scene for her smoky voice, catchy melodies and thought provoking lyrics. She released her first album, “White Bamboo” in 2008 and her newest album, “War for Love” in 2012. She also released a children’s music album, “The Bumblebee Band,” in 2010. Clare has independently sold thousands of CDs while street performing on the Santa Monica Promenade and Universal CityWalk, as well as playing shows at various venues across Los Angeles and touring the US, Canada and Europe. Many of Clare’s other songs can also be heard on college and independent radio stations across the country. Her song “Everybody’s Room But Mine,” was featured in the February 2013 issue of American Songwriter Magazine (AmericanSongwriter.com). You can hear her music and read more about her at www.ClareMeans.com.
