01-05-2014 | Label News
Houston based record label Skyway Records, LLC announced today that it has signed singer and poetess Lyriq to a recording contract. Lyriq will debut on the Skyway Records mixtape in early 2014.
Born Michelle Tarnesha Frazier on April 3,1986 in Houston, Texas, Lyriq always knew music was going to be a part of her life one way or another. As a kid she enjoyed writing poetry and singing and knew that one day she would get the opportunity to develop my voice and do big things.
Blessed with a voice that has taken her through auditions with BET's "Sunday's Best" and NBC's "The Voice," Lyric signed as the first R&B artist on the Skyway Records label in September of 2013. She has also auditioned for a film part with Je'Caryous Johnson…big things are in store for this talented lady. More than singer, Lyriq is a talented writer and author of over 10 poems. Her work can be seen on Poetry.com with several being nominated for publishing.
About her growing music career Lyriq says, "I don't want to be categorized as neo-soul or pop or soft rock…I want to be music in general."
