PopsterX Gives Indie Music Artists A Way To The Top Without a Label

New York, NY - August 30th, 2013 - PopsterX.com answers the number 1 question every new music artist asks today, "How do I make it to the top without a record label backing me when there are literally ten million artists trying to get there, too?"
In a world where the music industry is in flux and there is a newly failed music tech start-up every week, what does PopsterX do differently? Music artists sign up for free to grow their fan base, use innovative tools to promote their music, and are rewarded substantially for getting to the top of the weekly PopsterX chart. Rewards include a social media promotion campaign and a contract that enables PopsterX to pitch the winner's music to their strategic partners for corporate sponsorships and song placements in film & television, revenue streams that are vital for indie success today.
To music fans, PopsterX is a social media game of music discovery and buzz creation as they are rewarded for listening and sharing music with their friends. Fans can create playlists, write reviews, and become the tastemakers for a new generation of music artists as they vote their favorites into the PopsterX chart. The Top Tastemaker of the Week gets some cool rewards like a guest DJ spot on PopsterX radio and their playlist shared in social media.
Beyond the website just launched in Beta, there are developing plans to integrate a reality TV series. Top PopsterX artists will compete for major corporate sponsorships and will raise money for charity. Negotiations are underway with an A-List Hollywood producer to be named shortly.

The revenue model includes advertising, opt-in artist & fan features in development, and a percentage of brokered artist deals with third parties for corporate sponsorships & song placements. The company is developing an internal forward thinking label and publishing division as well.
