Independent publisher, Rights Management Associates has announced a new music licensing deal with 19 year old experimental folk artist Mree (Marie Hsiao).

Mree's self produced originals and striking covers have quietly made her a YouTube sensation, captivating over 7 million viewers and attracting the attention of Justin Vernon of Bon Iver, who shared her music with his Twitter fans. Mree was also designated a 'Rising Star' by the GRAMMY Foundation and featured at their 2012 Career Day.

A true artist, Mree writes and produces all her songs and films and edits all her music videos. Mree's debut album, "Grow", entered the iTunes Singer/Songwriter Chart at #18 and several of her singles charted on Amazon.com's Top 10.

"It's really unusual to find someone so young who has such a clear and focused artistic vision. I don't think she's even scratched the surface of how great she's going to be", says Mree's manager, Mark Conklin of Music City East.

Mree is currently a student of the Clive Davis Institute at NYU and working on her next record, to be released in 2013.

Rights Management Associates was formed in 2011 through a joint venture with Kobalt Music and is an independent music publishing company specialized in the global administration and management of copyrights for songwriters and composers.
